Baron Davis on Trail Blazers: The ship be sinking, the ship be sinking

the team that went to the conference finals in 99 didn't have Bonzi as a 'core' and the 2000 team didn't either. Bonzi in 99 played 7 games, and Bonzi in 2000 was a bench player averaging 8 points a game.

When Bonzi became part of the main group, 2000-01 through 2003-4 (up until he was traded), THOSE teams were not "damn good". There was a stretch in 2000-01 when the team WAS 'damn good', but not after that point.

The 99 team was a core of Grant, Sheed, Rider and Sabonis. The 2000 team that went to the conference finals had a core of Rasheed, Smith and Pippen. Hell, I'd put Sabonis above Damon that year too.

The incidences that caused the nickname didn't start happening until the 2002 season. Damon had the infamous yellow hummer in 2002, the issue with the large amount of pot (overblown imho) was in 2003. I don't remember what year that Damon tried to take weed through the Tucson airport.

Rasheed got suspended for threatening the ref in 2003, started racking up the T's in 01 and 02. The T's, however, weren't really "jail blazer" material, but his childish behaviors didn't help.

Qyntel Woods and Ruben Patterson were not on the 2000 team either.

Because Bonzi's attitude was so much better than Riders. I know we all love Grant but there is no way that Grant was considered a bigger piece to the Blazers success that Damon Stoudamire.

Brian Grant wasn't a bigger piece to the success in 99 than Damon?

Did you even watch those games? Brian was the heart and soul of that team, and the main reason why they beat the Jazz that season.

I'm just saying Damon was probably the most hated Blazers of all time but if you don't put Damon in that core group you are kidding yourself. Bigger piece or not Damon was still a huge part of the Blazers success.

Not sure what Damon being the "most hated" Blazer (which isn't true, I'd suggest that Woods or Patterson rank higher, same with Bonzi) has to do with this.

You're deviating from your original point, and that was that the "Jail Blazer" teams were "damn good", which they weren't.

Damon was cheered upon his return to Portland (I went to the game). Rasheed wasn't, Bonzi wasn't.

Damon might've been held to a higher STANDARD (fair or not) than the other 2, but he wasn't hated more.

Did you read my post? I never said anyone did.

You do know that you're not the smartest person here, right? Everyone here knows why you say shit like that, don't act like you don't say stuff like that to make the point that we're all just a bunch of soccer moms.

JR Rider and Raymond Felton are pretty high up on my most hated Blazers list.

First of all. I am absolutely the smartest person here.

Secondly, as the great Felix Unger said, to assume only makes an ass out of u and me

Where was baron Davis early in the season when we were winning? Not on an NBA team, I know that much.

The plan is working LA is back and rested the team will pick up a few wins and coast to number 8.

What about Crawford! :D

I never had a problem with Crawford, just thought he was really misused by trying to make him a pt guard when he's a 6 man and volume scorer. Crawford was really frustrated with being thrust into that role and the revolving roster that was here for his tenure.
