Good - Kyle Lohse could be traded to Texas for Hank Blalock I heard. Which would open up room for Liriano in the bullpen.Bad - Francisco Liriano is in the bullpen, and is our only left hander in there. Francisco Liriano was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Friday.

Thought i'd let you all know. Francisco Liriano (Derek and my pick to win AL RoY) is playing great. He's on pace to strike out an amazing 216 batters OUT OF THE BULLPEN!! I love this guy.

I know it's too early. But I love Liriano, so I had to post that. He's doin a lil better than some other rookies coughCainandMoholum(sp?)cough. And some young guy who's "better" than him coughKingFelixcough.

Bullpen duty is a lot easier than a starting role.

and chris shelton is on pace to hit 100+ homeruns. SO lets make him the MVP now. agreed with vilma. Anyone can bring it for an inning or two while throwing only their 2 best pitches. starting is a different story.

He throws it better than anyone who's ever played, but he throws it 90% of the time and gets K after K. My favorite thing to watch is for Rivera to get 3 straight batters to strike out on 12 or less pitches, every single one of them a cutter.Liriano might make one hell of a closer in the near future.

DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT AGAIN MR. JON VILMA!!!!!!!!!! It is a sin in my mind to say Liriano will be in the bullpen his whole career. He'll be in the starting rotation by seasons end.Starting is clearly harder than coming outta the 'pen...most of the time. I think it'd be harder to come outta the pen bottom of the 7th up 3-2, bases loaded, 0 outs, than start off a game 0-0 no one on.I don't think you can compare Liriano to Rivera. Rivera is better than him right now obviously. But like you said, for the most part, Rivera only has 1 pitch. Liriano has 3 pitches that he could strike anyone out with at any time.On a side note. Another Twins prospect that got the 5th starters job, Scott Baker, just RAPED the Yankees today. He went 7 innings only letting up 3 hits, 1 run, and striking out 4. This kid has a lot of potential too, and Johan, Liriano, Silva, Baker, are going to be a hell of a rotation for years to come (didn't mention Radke, 'cause I can't see him playing more than 3 more years).
