South Sudan winning by 14 at half! Wow not a single NBA player and they smoking team USA.
It turns out that when this team USA squad doesn't come in with intensity they'll get shown that the world has caught up to a certain extent. At the same time they came out with a sense of urgency against Serbia and didn't have any problem with them. I think this team will bring it in both halves of every game that matters in the Olympics.

Team USA came out overlooking a team with a lot of athleticism and heart. They went down by a big margin, then stormed back to take the league. Immediately the team let up for no other reason than hubris. This iteration of Team USA did pull it out but they seem to refuse to exploit obvious advantages they have in terms of size and athleticism at those spots they have size advantages. They played this game like it was against a team with similar strengths and weaknesses as Team USA has themselves. Too many finesse plays against a team that could have easily been out muscled.

Maybe they're really taking these games to hone the game plan they want to use the entire Olympics. This team just showed today that they have to take every team they play on the international stage seriously, especially if they're going to play a cute type of offense instead of being bruisers when they can.

The world has caught up. There will never be another “dream team” and it is just a matter of time until the USA fields a team of stars which end up being upset.

I’m not sure the USA is even a lock this year.

Only 40-minute games.
LBJ and Steph led the way playing only 23 minutes each..... in a 1-point victory.

In the NBA playoffs, teams shorten their rotation. Kerr may need to do the same so players can get into a rhythm.
Plus none of them are used to coming off the bench.

The US nearly lost to... SOUTH SUDAN? The entire country didn't even EXIST at the time of the Dream Team.

Wow.

This is just like summer league…..wait until the games count. I believe S. Sudan is in our pool….USA will smash them by 25 at least in France.

Please stop this FAMS! Nobody has caught up to anybody. TEAM USA threw together a roster that was a chemistry disaster in Athens and learned from it.

watching Gobert & Wemby frontline... Team France has no problem in the height & length department

US ahead of Germany by 7 at halftime.

I pushed my luck. My bag was like 9 lbs over the limit and they wanted to charge me $200!!!!! OR, I could carry 9 lbs in a separate bag!!!!

Okay, I’ll give it to you that we aren’t fielding our best team this year. And some countries have stars (Serbia, Slovenia, Greece…) but lack the depth the USA has. Spain might be falling behind a bit. But France has a legitimate roster and needs to be taken seriously. Wenbenyama can easily be the best player in the league in the future.

The USA will probably always have the deepest rosters. But I won’t be surprised if we see another Athens situation in the near future.

It will be interesting to see when our bench players are starting who is coming off the bench.

This is LBJ’s last Olympics.

Jayson Tatum has looked absolutely horrendous in these tune-up games. He looks awful.

END OF 3Q: Germany 71, USA 68

LeBron James saves the US bacon again. They're looking old and slow, it must be said.

Ok, so, disregard Anthony Davis getting selected to All-NBA offense & defense. Taurean Prince 3&D, career high 39.6% from deep. D'Angelo averaged 18/6/3 with career high 41.5% 3pt shooting.

this fan should check boxscores before sending mean tweets. But I suppose that would require brain cells.
