Do your friends know basketball? Do you talk basketall with your friends? I try to get a conversation going once in a while if we're watching a game - but my friends are pretty clueless to what goes on in the NBA. Most of them are huge homers - and are pretty ignorant about most things. I like getting in debates with them - it amuses me.

No....Most of my friends know very little and my best friend doesn't even watch sports...

Well, some of my friends know what they are talking about to a point, but I really don't get into detailed conversations with them. A lot of them won't even know what I'm talking about when I say some things, and they just say "yeah" and drop the conversation. I've watched more games this year than 5 of my friends combined in the past 2 years lol. They aren't serious about it.

I made a bet with my friend about the Raptors making the playoffs. He still thinks they are going to flop. He isnt a puckhead though. He is a soccer fanatic.

My friends follow the NBA some, but not a ton. I find it really hard to get into long conversations with them on the NBA, because they'll end up saying something really stupid. Let's see here are some of their quotes:VC homer: "I'd take Vince over Lebron"Sixer fan: "AI is really good at defense, have you seen his steal totals?"If I think of any more I'll edit this post.

My friends know jack sh*t about basketball. That's part of the reason why I come on here...

I talk in detail about basketball with some of my friends, but they don't really know what I'm talking about and really aren't a die hard fan like me, and others don't watch basketball at all.

doesn't exist, theres one whos a Tennessee fan...and well, we dont get along when we talk about college basketball for obvious reasons.

Recently, I've gotten into two debates. One kid thinks Kevin Garnett is the best player in the NBA, while another one thinks Gerald Green is the next MJ. They know there basketball, just are dumb at times.

Pft, Only one of my friends know A BIT of what's happening in the NBA. He's joined here but he only posted 4 times?(AirLeBron)My school is just a bunch of LeBron and Wade homers. A week ago, my gym teacher and my health teacher said LeBron was the Clutchest player in the NBA. I laughed soo hard. Then remember when LeBron missed 2 freethrows AND 2 threepointers that woulda won them the game against Dallas a few days ago? Well I brought that up and they still said he was the clutchest player in the NBA. People just ride on LeBron and Wade's dicks at my school it's not even funny.

Most of the people I know are Spurs fans. On another forum there was a thread asking how anyone could be a Mavs fan. He called the Mavs dirty, Cuban a douche, and claimed that ESPN still ranked the Spurs higher. I showed him a few Bruce Bowen videos... he claimed that his feet were just "wide stance," but he wouldn't answer me regarding Bruce kicking Wally in the face. I asked if Bowen just had a wide stance into Wally's face. I made note of how the Mavs have the 4th best record at this point in the season all-time, and of course they retorted with "Oh yeah wutev man spurs alwayz play betta in the playoffs." Hahaha. Then of course, I showed them the multiple ESPN rankings that have the Mavs in first where they belong. They continued with childish whining, but I made my points.

My friends know nothing more than the obvious answers. " Lebron can dunk better than Melo, Iverson has a sick crossover, Dywane Wade is the best"That's why I enjoy coming here.

I have about 7 friends that follow the NBA, but half of them are biased and stupid when it comes to basketball.

I like talking to my old Driver's Ed teacher, old Business teacher and current World History teacher about sports.

In High School, I had some good talk with sports. In our Spanish class, we had weekly pick em's for the NFL games. 2 bucks each, winner takes all. This one Laker fan always had to get in his jabs, especially on one occasion when Mavs blew that 4th quarter lead. Didn't help Lakers won a championship as well.I see him occasionally, my have things turned.College, it's kind of iffy, this Pacer fan I hang out with knows his stuff well and is great to talk with about basketball. But most are just cheering whoever is big or on TV.

Back in HS, I could only talk to a few of my friends about basketball since they knew some things about bball. Most of my friends tried giving me sh*t about being a Mav fan while they were just homers who rooted for the Lakers or Spurs. Back in school we would mostly talk about football since they knew more about the NFL and college football. Now here in college, none of my friends know anything about bball. Reason why I'm here and BBW.

Hardly any of my friends even play ball, and half of em don't watch NBA, so not much here..

Well, I go to school with NbaDogmatist, and we are really good friends, and he knows his sh*t. I also go to school with a couple other members of this site who are pretty intelligent as well. One of them is a really biased Spurs fan though. I have a couple friends who know the game pretty well....

Well lets see some opinions on the NBA from my friends:"AI in Denver will make them one of the best NBA teams ever.""Greg Oden will be a bust, he sucks in college.""This draft class is horrible outside of Oden and Durant.""AI is the best player in the NBA right now."Just some of it. Most of them are either: LeBron lovers, Nuggets homers (mainly AI or 'Melo homers), or Suns fans.2 of my friends know some basketball, but not too much.

Well we've got a few kids at school who know basketball alright, but they still aren't experts or anything.. I'm not friends with them, and nobody really knows that I do love basketball, love watching it, and love talking about it..

My discussions revolve around steve nash since all the white people in my school are enfatuated with Nash.

None of them like are into or follow the NBA. They follow the Knicks though. They mostly know the players through video games

My school friends don't know jack sh*t about basketball. I have one friend who says T-Mac is a better player than Kobe, Dirk, LeBron, and Wade. He also thinks the Mavs don't play D and the Lakers have a serious chance at winning the NBA Finals *when I say serious, I mean serious. Like the chance the Suns and Mavs have.* He also thinks the Mavs suck and Dirk is a soft player who only shoots jumpshots and doesn't get 10 feet near the basket. He also think that Wade doesn't get fouls called and doesn't goto the line. And another guy who is a HUGE Minny fan of all sports thinks Dirk should have started in the ASG for Duncan but not KG and he thinks that KG is miles ahead of Dirk in terms of who is a better player.

My mom knows more about basketball than my friends do..and she rarely watches it. That's how little they know. :lol:Which is why I come on forums like these.

I am not bragging, but out of all my friends, I know Basketball most. Thats partly because I learned alot coming on here. That whats cool about this site. You can argue with people that have a basketball IQ like yours and higher.

I've tried once or twice with a few of my female friends. One started talking about how she wanted to give one of the Pistons a back massage or something to that effect. I was like o_O. Another time the girl said she was a Piston fan I asked her how she felt about Ben leaving for Chicago(mind you this was around October) she didn't know he had left. It was one of those :\ moments. I'm not the most intelligent person when it comes to basketball but sheesh...

That back massage... ahahI only have one friend that I can truly say he knows his basketball. He's a Laker fan as well, and we don't really talk about actual NBA issues, just like, "did you hear Smush sucks balls?" or something like that. But he knows his basketball.
