Bass to Orlando

This.

KP dicked around trying to sign a starter to be a backup for big money when they could have signed a back up to be a back up and still have money to spare.

It is mystifying.

+repped I agree 100% and am really upset with KP right now. I think PA needs to get a real GM and try to improve the team. I think KP did a great job of building through the draft but doesn't have a clue when trying to trade or get a FA in to help.

Travis Outlaw is still on the team and he'll pretty much play backup PF.

Hold the Outlaw suck comments, because that's just foolish to say. He's one of the better 6th man in the NBA.

He is a good scorer, but he isn't a banger. Since that was one of the things the team said they needed to get in the off season, I would say this plan isn't such a good one.

It appears to be what the team wants, though.

Just to reiterate: we are SECOND IN THE LEAGUE in net PER for the power forward spot. And now we may be first, because Dallas was #1 and they lost Bass. Power forward is not a big position of need for us.

Not to say that PER isn't a great stat and all.. but we've been clamoring the past two years for a power forward who can bang, and be a disruption defensively and provide some energy. Any fan can see that watching our team.

And what about us putting in an offer sheet for Millsap?

Here's a list of players still available.

- Paul Millsap
- Carlos Boozer
- David Lee
- Josh Childress (he has to make a decision before July 15th, or he's stuck in Greece)
- Marvin Williams
- Ramon Sessions
- Andre Miller

And that's not including the rest of the players in the league, which we could trade for with our long list of assets.

Settle down. Shit. Let them work. If after the summer is over and nothing happens, then bitch.

Almost all of them are restricted. Haha.

It's also silly to assume they won't without seeing them play a single game.

We HAVE seen them play a single game. We saw them play four years of games each in college.

Bass was the player of the year in the SEC as a sophomore. He was a FAR superior player to either of the guys we drafted, and he's got two years of physical maturity and four years of NBA experience on them.

It is POSSIBLE that Pendergraph or Cunningham will emerge as a Bass-like (or even Millsap-like) force, but the odds are slim and I don't think that them being drafted should influence free agency decisions.

Ed O.

This was very bad news imo. I think Utah will match any offer we make to Millsap which is going to screw us. Oh well, looks like we won't make a move until the trade deadline.

They can't, that's the point of offering him! They're already going to be paying the luxury tax, and the Miller empire was built on car dealerships - and we all know how that business is going.
