Batum going to nuggets for just picks now????

the Trail Blazers would only consider trading Batum if they were getting back a comparable player plus a likely lottery pick

No, not just picks.

So for example the Blazers would want Favors + a lottery pick

I already strongly dislike Rich Cho and if this happened I'd go to the games just to heckle him.

This is BS.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but if Cho trades away my favorite player for anything short of a fringe all star, I will fully support his firing.

Read down further where it says multiple lottery picks. Then it says denver is trying to hit a grand slam by getting favors and batum, while we actually get worse. Maybe we should rethink who's gonna be bad for a long time. Denver or Portland?

Jesus is rich cho hired to be the next Nash? Destroy franchise with a smile?

The 2011 draft is weak and with Melo/Lopez the Nets, especially in the East, will be a playoff team.

A comparable player would be Favors but it sounds like Denver wants both. Fuck that!

If cho does that he should be fired asap! Wow we arent even asking for fucking Harris or favors?????? Gross and unacceptable.

It's one thing to have such strong opinions about how bad the Blazers are, it's another to competely misquote a statement in an article . . . or is it just a matter of bad reading comprehension?

Where does it say cho is considering trading Batum for just picks now?

I think it is a good thing that so many teams want Batum.

I just skimmed it quickly twice and didn't see anything. I only saw this

So if the Nuggets acquired the rights to an unprotected Nets' pick, the Blazers would be willing to listen to what else Denver would add to a potential trade for Batum.

Yeah, the Blazers will listen, as any team would. I'm not seeing where is just says picks, though.

I like how the OP sensationalizes what was written, one person points this out, but others still respond to the original sensationalism, without bothering, apparently, to read the article linked, or the first comment.

i.e. make shit up to be a negative nancy. No thanks.

What else could they offer? Their entire roster is very undesirable. Picks? I like Batum over what we'd likely get in the mid-1st/late-1st picks we'd get in return. Harris is six years older than Batum, The mid/late first just aren't appealing and I hope Cho is smart enough to realize this.

Not that I'd really like it, but maybe he's thinking pick or picks and Ty Lawson, in some fashion, with Denver hanging onto Harris? Who knows.

Here's my take....

Cho has no trading skills and is being pushed around by better gms! They are basically saying your gonna get whatever we give you.

Rebuilding around 19 year old Derrick Favors I highly doubt they'd hang onto the 28 year old Harris over the 23 year old Lawson.

Here's my take. Cho is an excellent trader, and this entire Nuggets-Nets deal has been held up because he has everyone confused on who is going where, and everyone is trying to give Portland picks and players for nothing.

The people who are getting freaked out by MIXUM's spin on the article need to actually read the article itself.

No it's trolling plain, and simple.

Can mods please change the thread title to actually reflect the article?

Probably not. Just giving a pick and player option. If they decided to build around Nene, favors, batum and Harris, it doesn't kill their team. Yeah, they won't be good, but they wouldn't dip to attrociously bad levels. I doubt we move Batum, and doubt they would do that, was just throwing out a player on their team.

So first you criticize Cho for not making any moves and now you are criticizing him for making moves (eventhough he hasn't) because he is being pushed around by other GMs.

So if Cho doesn't make a move he sucks. And if he does make a move he sucks.

It's pretty obvious what Denver's GM wants to do: Parlay Harris/future pick for Batum. With an inexperienced GM in Rich Cho I fear he'd make a stupid mistake like this.

I'd trade Batum for Favors straight up. I doubt Denver would do that, though.

Trading Batum for NJ's unprotected lottery pick in the next draft... ?

Maybe. I dunno.

That is funny . . . I would rep but the format on my computer doesn't let me.

If it would even be a lottery pick, after adding Billups, rip and Anthony. They're 10-27, but only 5 games out of the 8th seed.

Denver wants to rebuild around Batum and Favors.

The NJ pick is not guaranteed to be a lotto pick. You could have a losing record and still make the 8th seed in the East.

I would trade them straight up too. Moving Batum for NJ's, and NJ's alone draft pick would be great also. Batum is a nice young SF, but he isn't anything more than a very good role player

I know. I don't think we always get what we want, though.

Nothing is guaranteed, but the Nets have the 5th-worst record in the NBA and the other teams are at 8 and 9 wins.

I don't think that the Nets get THAT much better even in the best-case of adding Anthony, Billups and Hamilton. They might make the playoffs and they might not.

Of course, Batum might end up being worth a lottery pick and he might not, too...

MIXUM's spin was that we were ONLY getting the pick, which is not what the article says.
