Batum working out!

Did anyone else have these thoughts while watching the video?
It's so good that he's back and why the hell do they have them practicing shots (off of screens) when they hardly ever do that during the game?

We're an ISO offense, why have them practice shooting shots running off of screens (or simulated screens)?

Looks great! We could really use his defense, it'll be exciting getting him back. His jumper looks better than I remember it.

But obviously I want them to wait until there isn't any additional risk of him re-injuring it.

I hope Nic and Rudy learned a lesson and tone down the workouts next summer. I was all for Batum getting some burn 6 months ago but after the injuries we've had I'd rather see him rest up and healthy for next season than partaking in summer basketball activities.

Well that's the chance you take drafting foreign players. They want to play for their country.

Speaking of which, did you see how bad Martell's looks? His feet are all fucked up when he goes up and shoots typically not coming to a complete stop and jumping straight up. Man ...

Force of coaching habit? Maybe Nate has come to his senses? :dunno:

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing.

I said to my son, "they should just have him stand in the corner and count to 23 and then get a pass and practice launching up a shot with someone in their face."

I will be very happy when Batum is back on the court showing us his game.

repped

wait..you repped someone for saying they agreed with my comment, because he made a joke about 23 seconds, yet you didn't fucking rep me in the first place?

What, did you join HCP in the "I hate julius" club??

shit..whats a brother gotta do to get some love? I pass out rep's like they're oxygen.

Thanks for reminding me. I owe a dozen people reps back. They would make great Christmas presents! Yeah! Let's see, only 361 days till I have to dole them out. Can't wait to see the happy faces!

Ha. You should see Webster shoot jump shots in practice. He never misses.

Everybody looks better in practice.

Actually watch Webster shoot in that practice, he's missing all over the place.

...oh goodie gumdrops, I can't wait!!!

It looked to me like they had practice split up by position. SF practicing the shots they get in one court, point guards in the other. All of those were shots a player in the SF position would get within the offense, but some of them are shots that only certain players on the team would actually take.

I am pretty excited to see Batum play, because in the summer, he was tearing it up on the french team. When Parker went down, he was playing PG this year, and playing it well. I know this guy has some offense in his game. I just hope when he comes back, he hasn't forgotten that. He took a back seat last year because he was a rookie, but I expect him to step up this year because he is no longer a rookie.

Modest goals. I would like to see him break 10 points per game, consistently.

That would be a HUGE lift if he gave us double figures every night - with the way he plays defense, WOW. I'm sure there will be some rust to burn off at first, although it's being reported that he's kept himself in good shape. Still, how can there not be rust? It's like coming to training camp for him.

I can't wait. This summer he was beasting and looked poised for a breakout year.

Because our ISO offense sucks and we haven't won a title since 1977? :dunno:
