Bayless has been a strong part of Portland's rejuvenated rotation, where he finds way to score from the perimeter, on drives and, of course, from the free throw line. He's taken 124 free throws in 560 minutes, whereas Mayo has only 121 free throw attempts in over 1,400 minutes. If Bayless can develop a consistent shot, his value would jump way up.

O.J. Mayo

Who are ranked 2,3,4,and 5 in sophomore scoring with between 16.5 and 18.5 PPG, compared to Bayless at 8.8.

The best scorers in the league are the guys that find a way to get to the line 10+ attempts per game. That way when you are having a bad shooting night, you can still make a dent. It makes it so your lows aren't so low, and your high scoring nights are extremely high.

It should also be pointed out that those four guys are all full-time starters for the second straight year and play big minutes. Bayless is still a back-up that struggles to get consistent minutes (even more so now that Blake and Rudy are back).
