nice.. nothing like taking out frustration on inferior players lol. I'm off to go play one on one against my 14 year old brother.. I'm gonna post that bastard up all effin game!

Cool. If they are going to play him at SG, I don't know if he could do much better than he did last summer. I'm hoping he's going to play exclusively at the point. I'll be watching how he'll handle the press, if he can keep the dribble alive when being hounded by aggressive defense, when he drives whether he's looking for his own shot or looking for cutters and spot up shooters, how quickly he can deliver a pass when a player is in good scoring position. His jumpers has got to improve as well.

There's no chance they play him at off-guard, they are going to let him run the show and see what he can do given the reins ... it's 'go big or go home' time for J-Bay.

I'm kinda bummed, we know what Bayless can do against poor competition 1 on 1, I wanted to see Koponen get some burn and experience with our coaching staff. He has a high ceiling IMO and our guys on courtside were gushing about him a couple of weeks ago. Looked very good in that US v World game (against Rose and Mayo) and while I don't think he'll be a dynamo at all considering his struggles in Europe Jennings has struggled just as much.

I'm hoping you are right, but what about Kopponen? I'm assuming he'll be there, and we'll also want to see how he runs the show at the point.

That's why they have 2 halves to each basketball game.

No matter what position he plays, I hope he is encouraged to take outside shots and not drive to the rim. We all know he can do that . . . and whether he plays PG or SG, he has to be able to consiste3ntly knock down the jumper.

Bayless is on facebook chat right now but he's not responsive.

I'd rather not have them split up the minutes like that. I'd rather they alternate games running the point.

Tried that last year. Kop as PG and he did fairly well and Bayless as SG (and he did quite well). When we ran the offense through Bayless, things didn't move as well. Yes, we didn't have much for a summer league team but if Bayless couldn't run the point in summer league (when Kop could), what makes us think he can run the point during the regular season?

I'll admit I'm a doubter. I don't see any kind of outside shot or ability to run the point, two things that should get from our PG. We get a decent running of the point (minus defense) from Sergio and a decent outside shot from Blake (and serviceable running of the point) but we get neither from Bayless.

Gramps...

I'd rather see him working on his game with some established NBA guards this summer. Playing glorified streetball that is the summer league is not going to teach him anything. If I were Bayless, I'd be living in the gym shooting jumper after jumper.

umm. I regularly whoop up on my 9-year old son. We do what we have to do. I love the surprised look on his face when I block his shot like a volleyball spike. Ahh little people. Gotta love them.

Doubtful. Kopo has already played in two summer leagues and is off in Europe playing there for probably the next 3 years, he might be worth bringing over down the road, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bayless on the other hand is a lottery pick who is making 2-3 million a year, which is a lot of scratch for a guy giving you 600 minutes of play in a season, it's absolutely critical they give him floor time to see what they've got.

He'll be doing both ... guaranteed.

I saw Bayless at dinner tonight and he said he was leaving for Arizona next week. He was with Aldridge and the majority of the restaurant gave them a round of applause when they left.

Cool. What restaurant?

The bad news is that Oden won't be joining him in Summer League. I haven't the slightest idea why he wouldn't. He could use the time to work on his game.

I hope he works hard this off season. I don't want my faith in him to be shit on.

I had a feeling he wouldn't, but I didn't know for sure. Where did you hear he wasn't playing?

I wish they had sent Bayless to the D-league this past season, where he would have gotten lots of valuable burn. The D-League is no longer looked upon as an insult - it provides valuable experience and confidence, with a decent path back into the NBA. This is far better than just riding the pine all day, imo.

Good. Too many hacks in the summer league. Being triple teamed would not of helped his development, because he won't ever be triple teamed in the regular season. I see no upside in having him out there.

Not only that, it's a guard's league

From what I have seen so far, I really doubt Koponen will play in the NBA.

How can playing against quality opponents be bad for Oden's development? Is it better for him to post up Bill Bayno all summer?

He needs to get experience posting up big men and dealing with being hacked. That really isn't going to happen outside of actual games with players who want to beat you.

Doesn't being a first round pick guarantee him a 3-year rookie deal though? What's the rules on players drafted in the first round who's teams dont want to sign them? Could they force the issue and sue until they were signed or something?
