I know it has nothing to do with this site, but I need help. I've still been checking out BBF. This morning it said my password was 1220 days old and was now expired!?!?!?? What? Now I can't log on no matter what I do. If somebody could help me out that'd be great.

Try the request new password link.

Same thing happened to me. The page that gave that "expired" message also had a link to click on to "create a new password." Of course, you can use the same one.

Dunno what you do if you ignored that link.

Somebody should tell BBF that making it more difficult to participate in their site isn't exactly a proven model of business.

I'm done over there anyhow. I like it over here, plus technically this site is miles ahead of BBF. I have a fiber optic connection and it still took up to a minute to load a page there at times.

Yup. Seems like an unnecessary nag. But I only lurk these days, so it doesn't much matter to me. BBF can run things how they like.

It's not even recognizing me as a user though!

LOL

I've been banned from there and can't post anymore.

Fascists!

I don't think you're banned. You probably got some activation e-mail that has a link you need to click on to re-enable your account.

Interestingly enough, I am not banned from there.

I choose not to post. I want to see that board die a quick death. I encourage all of you to stop posting there cold turkey.

It happen to me this morning. I just entered a new password and confirmed the new password and everything has worked. If it didn't work it probably would have just been the end of me going to BBF or at least making any posts. I only go there a couple times a day to see what is happening on BBF. I usually only stay a couple minutes because I see less and less posts all the time.

We have that feature turned off. It basically times out your password to force you to choose a new one periodically (the timeout can be set). It's good for security so your account isn't as easily hacked. On the other hand, it's obtrusive and interferes with people doing what they want to do - read and post.

I'm naked without my cloak of rep power. :ghoti:

I'm not sure they disabled your rep power, but I would if I were afraid of people using it to spam others (and I cared about that sort of thing).

Aw crap, apparently I can post and I got my beloved rep power back.

It makes this divorce that much more painful...:biglaugh:

Happened to me too HCP. Just put in your old password at the top and then enter a new password twice

I love how about 6 threads in EBB were merged, when they absolutely didn't need to be merged and have little to do with each other. Just an attempt to piss of DaRizzle and MDIZZ, obviously. Those mods really are fascist.

Please dont ever put my name and MDizz in the same sentence ever again

NOTHING!!!! If anybody knows anybody over there that can help, holler!

Can you sign out? Maybe clear you internet history so when you enter the site you will be a guest and then try signing in

Wondering....

How much less money will they make from the ads on their board when the advertisers see how much less traffic there is?
