I see this is already linked in the thread on Roy's plans for tonight. If a mod wants to delete it, feel free.

Great Long Piece, Miller is the Man.

Liked this tidbit:

“Camby or LA pay every time, so I have to pay one time,'' Batum said. “That was my first time in three years paying for a dinner. I act like I go to bathroom, give them card, and it's taken care of. Otherwise the bill comes and everyone is 'I got it. I got it. I got it.'' Batum wouldn't say how much the tab was, but he said it was less than $1,000.

“I thought that was nice,'' Aldridge said. “Unexpected. But it kind of shows how Nic is coming out of his shell a bit.''

Love the bit on Miller. Truly a under the radar PG that knows this game. How blessed we are to have him.

Here is the infinite detail that the Oregonian thinks is good writing. This is just a small sample of the trivia in the boring article.

He assures that for tonight's Game 2, the Blazers will get a more assertive, more aggressive, more …

He couldn't find a word.

“Free?'' I suggested.

“Yeah, little more free. Yeah. Not thinking that I have to please everybody I'm on the court with at the time, or making sure he gets his, and he gets his. Because those things will come if I attack.''

When Roy finished his workout on Monday night and entered the warm Texas night, he said he left feeling good about his shot. And even better about his mind.

“It was a good session. I felt good,'' Roy said. “More than anything, I was able to get into a good bounce. A good rhythm. I left feeling good about it.''

Here's another weird thing about the Oregonian--only in a small town would their moral arrogance survive. They think the media are the most important people in the room. You're like the servants, stupid!

In the last month at the Rose Garden, I’ve seen some of the most rude and arrogant behavior by coaches toward the media. San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich, Dallas’ Rick Carlisle and Memphis’ Lionel Hollins were all self-important jackasses after their teams lost to the Blazers. They bullied, insulted and talked down to reporters, as if they were somehow better or entitled to do so because they are basketball coaches.

McMillan can get snappy, but he is never personal and never rude. He often says he understands we have a job to do, and that all he asks is that we strive to get the facts right. But what I appreciate most from McMillan is that he doesn't think he is better than anybody just because he is a basketball coach.

Who gives a shit what you think of how McMillan treats you? You think they should kiss your ass because they want you there. They don't. Get it?

I care. I thought it was interesting. Thanks for posting it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have seen it, and now I got to enjoy the entire article. Quick has really stepped up his game again!

How come when Canzano changed his opinion abut Miller, you did too? Almost the same day.

Has anyone ever seen you and Cancer together? ...Merge your two interests, Cancer. Make your next column a cookbook.
