Boone gets abused too much for a center IMO. Say if he was the starter against the Hawks we probably would have lost yesterday at home. Lopez in the oher hand has a presense in the paint.
To get back on topic, I would love to get Bellineli here in Jersey. Him and CDR will have to fight for minutes which can only lead to improvement in both parts. In all honesty I do not care if either Boone or Williams gets traded to get Marco. Boone will never be a center who can dominate the paint and Williams has A LOT to learn still. But if I had to pick one, I would rather keep Swat and draft a real center with a 2nd rounder, or maybe sign a free agent even.

The deal was turned down by Thorn. They wanted either Boone or Sean and we declined.
I think we should have explored the deal a little more. Try to build on it. I don't understand why they would need Sean, but that's not our problem.
I didn't want Carroll because he has a long contractI'm glad Thorn shot down a Marco trade. Why would we give up a big for anproven 2 guard who plays zero defense? Our plethora of bigs is one of our few valuable trade chips and just throwing it away now would be foolish, especially for someone who doesn't even address our current needs.
I'm a huge Warriors fan and I just don't see how giving away one of our bigs would change Marco from being an end of the bench player for a coach who preaches defense. This isn't a Boki situation where we play him despite his faults because he has a good outside shot, we have a number of capable shooters this season who do the intangible things and they would keep him glued to the pine under Frank.
Is the sweet stroke what gets you? A week ago people were coming up with every reason to shoot down a Carroll trade and he actually hustles on top of being a proven NBA role player. I just don't get it, and i'm glad Rod saw it the same way.
Pathetic how do you not trade Sean for Marco? We got like 7 pf/c
Marco woulda been drazen petrovic 2.0
all those 3's he sick marco italian too nj = italy he woulda been rejuvanted
The Nets have had trade talks with the Warriors involving Al Harrington and Marco Bellinelli.
A league source said the Warriors asked for either Josh Boone or Sean Williams in exchange for Bellinelli but the Nets didn't like the deal.
The Nets have seven power forwards/centers, making a trade likely. But because of injuries in their frontcourt, nothing is imminent.
"We talk to people a lot," Rod Thorn said. "Most of it's idle chatter like with most teams. I don't really have anything to say about it."
Via The Bergen Record
In some ways, Marco Belinelli is like Sean Williams. He is all about potential and fans of both teams see their guy as someone who would, if only given a chance, thrive. Marco Belinelli is about as much like Drazen Petrovic as Sean Williams is like Amare Stoudemire.
Four years ago, Rod Thorn wanted Cliff Robinson but for weeks couldn't get a deal done with Jeff Mullin. Mullin wanted a first round pick for Uncle Cliffy. Thorn refused. Ultimately, Mullin relented and accepted two first second round picks, the Clipper pick in 2005 (obtained in the Kittles deal) and the Net pick in 2007. Neither player taken with those picks is still in the NBA. Chris Taft played one year for the Warriors, but was hurt and is now, I believe, out of basketball because of back problems. Stephen Lasme was a bust almost from Day 1 and is now playing in Europe. Maybe Thorn tries again, offering a TE and a pick or Ager...whatever...or maybe Mullin remembers how he got played.
(The other rumor is that the Warriors will package Al Harrington and Belinelli for Jason Kapono, Joey Graham and Kris Humpries. THAT trade makes a lot of sense. Jamario Moon has regressed for the Raptors, Sam Mitchell hardly uses Kapono and everyone now realizes Graham isn't very good. Belinelli is close friends with Bargnani and the assistant GM in Toronto, the Italian, loves Belinelli from the old country.)
