Weird choice.

imho, it's a horrible choice. No one can take him serious as a strong guy.

Also, I loved how the article totally forgot to mention Kilmer.

He's leavin' Gotham City in his fawkin' reah-view.

Jesus Christ! The horrible choice is to re-hash Batman AGAIN. This has to be a joke?

Considering they re-did Spiderman not 5 years after the last Spiderman movie with Toby Maguire, and Hollywood re-did Superman again, no less than 8 years after re-booting Superman the first time, nothing surprises me.

Hollywood Weighs in on Affleck as Batman
Former Bat-stars Val Kilmer & Adam West Tweet out their thoughts.

In a response to the recent hair-tearing over the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel, Hollywood figures have taken to the Internet to show their support of the actor.

"Give Ben a chance!" Tweeted out Batman Forever star Val Kilmer.

Remember Ben, with the cape and cowl comes great responsibility (and lots of heat). Bring deodorant. #batman @BenAffleck

Pop-culture King Joss Whedon Tweeted out that he thinks Affleck will "crush it," while comedian Patton Oswalt wrote a lengthy Facebook message calling for some perspective over the decision.

"A Batman portrayed by someone who's tasted humiliation and a reversal of all personal valences -- kind of like Grant Morrison's "Zen warrior" version of Batman, post-ARKHAM ASYLUM, who was, in the words of Superman, "...the most dangerous man on the planet"?" Wrote Patton. "Think for a second and admit that Ben Affleck is closer to THAT top-shelf iteration of The Dark Knight than pretty much anyone in Hollywood right now."

Affleck'll crush it. He's got the chops, he's got the chin -- just needs the material. Affleck & Cavill toe to toe -- I'm in.

And hey, we think he'll make a pretty great Batman too.

And hey, we think he'll make a pretty great Batman too.

well if we learned anything from how Jason Quicks colleagues reacted to him leaving the Blazers beat, this obviously shows that we fans of movies know nothing.

Cranston as Luther is going to be awesome!

Cranston as Luther is going to be awesome!

As much as I like the actor who played Luther in Superman Returns (? I think thats the title), it was a horrible choice for Luther.

Michael Keaton was a better than expected Batman. I think Ben will do fine

The problem is, those Batman movies were kind of campy, and hokey. In the same genre/style of film, Ben would probably be fine. But if they're going to go away from campy or comical movies (just compare the joker, Bain and scarecrow characters), I'm not sure Ben would fit.

Ben Affleck's Batman vs. Superman Schedule
Oscar winner reportedly signed for multiple movies.

Better get used to the new big screen Batman Ben Affleck because it sounds like he's going to be around for awhile.

"Sources say that Affleck has been signed for multiple movies, should sequels continue to proliferate. The talks were so secretive that many Warners execs and most WME agents remained unaware of their existence," claims The Hollywood Reporter. Talks with Affleck began earlier this year when director Zack Snyder checked Affleck's interest. Early talks circled around story and character.

THR says Affleck will shoot David Fincher's Gone Girl this September through February before segueing to shoot Man of Steel 2/Superman vs. Batman from February through August 2014. The superhero pic will reportedly lens in Toronto.

Affleck is expected to be doing pre-production work on his next directorial effort -- the Prohibition gangland film Live By Night, which he'll shoot next fall -- while simultaneously filming his Batman role.

The Man of Steel sequel opens July 17, 2015.

Has anyone in this thread suggested who they would tab to replace Bale as Batman?
