What's the most you would give up for Ben Simmons?

I wonder if Draymond’s interview has the Warriors tempted to get in on this?

Simmons/Dray/CJ works and maybe one of the few CJ trades that Dame would be ok with.

I have a feeling this rotation would be beautiful (at least on defense).

Lillard/Simons
Powell/Snell
Covington/Little
Green/Nance
Nurkic/Zeller

We would be a very big and physical team and we could close with a death end of game lineup of Lillard/Powell/Covington/Nance/Green.

A lot would be riding on Powell and Simons taking the next step at scorers.

I said that he hadn't said that he won't play here... that's it. I knew he wasn't talking to the Sixers and I figured the only thing he'd say to them once he did was, "Get me out of here."

I'm fully willing to entertain being wrong but I coulda swore you were also referring to him cutting off communication... :dunno:

Simmons does everything Dray does but shoot the ball incosistently. Oh and Simmons does all of those things better and is an actual big. He's more athletic. We would be gifting the Warriors in this situation. It would be crazy of us.

Nah, I always knew about that and I was also on board with it. I've never seen a guy get thrown under the bus the way Doc and Embiid did him. I wouldn't have talked to them either.

He didn't cut it off midseason man, it was after Doc and Embiid shredded him publicly. Everything he's doing makes perfect sense. He's strong-arming his way out of a toxic situation. If CJ behaved this way I'd be borderline thrilled, as that would mean he is gone. This is on Doc and Embiid and the Sixers fanbase. If instead they had talked to him behind closed doors things might have been very different.

I predicted that this (Simmons holding out and not showing to camp) would happen when Morey was sitting here asking for ridiculous returns from other teams. You only showed up here a few weeks ago. I've been on the Simmons bandwagon for a while now.

How does this make him a prima donna? It's a toxic work environment and he wants out. Why is that so wrong?

Toxic work environment? Granted, the other players should have kept it in the locker-room - but was this emotions boiling over, or a premeditated campaign to trash his reputation, turn the fans against him, etc? Did he even try to sit down with his critics on the team and work it out? His response just escalated the situation.

I agree Embiid messed up. Simmons has done nothing but pour gasoline on the fire.
 
Those 3 clips are interesting. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with Doc's comments. If that upset Simmons, someone needs to explain to him that coaches get to criticize guys who play poorly. As for Embiid - I still say he made a mistake, but it wasn't so outrageous that he and Simmons couldn't have talked it out once everyone was past the initial disappointment.

The fan video? It's Philly. What Philly team are the fans nice to?
 
After the news that came out today about simmons wanting to go to one of three California teams maybe Olshey did make an offer and was told "he won't play for Portland".
Maybe it's best he isn't here? Obviously we don't want a guy on the team that doesn't want to be here right?

Not as tough, not as much killer instinct, not as close with Dame, bigger contract, more of a douche. Yeah, in a skills contest I take Ben. If we want a win and someone to set up Dame, I take Draymond.

It's not news. It’s an unsubstantiated rumor from a Western executive possibly (likely?) based in the bay area jaw boning down his asking price.

Now do you think that might be true? Could his preference be either LA, LA, Or GS? I would think so. Probably a pretty safe bet that rumor is true.

100%. And I also 100% believe he would want to go to the three CA teams. He has zero control over that of course.

I do not think it's true, no, and big ups for saying it's a rumor. Sure he'd like to play there, most players would, are they the sole acceptable teams for him? No. Based on other stories of equal or greater veracity, he was ok going to Minnie or Cleveland hardly mecca's of basketball or nightlife. Also, Toronto DOES have a nightlife and Drake which is no small thing if you're image-obsessed. Those same rumors (all magically supporting GSW who is the only CA team that could possibly trade for him without gutting their core) said he didn't want to play in Toronto which is a competitive team where he could punish the Sixers and have the aforementioned nightlife. I don't buy it. Smells like BS wafting from GSW to me.

Shaq has a great Cat Williams quote about Simmons in this video. I'm still all about getting Ben but Shaq said, "How can I fuck up your self-confidence, it's called self, confidence..." It was pretty funny but I believe if anyone can help Simmons gain that confidence he lacks, it's Dame and coach Billups. I'm hoping we can get Simmons in here for CJ and very little if anything else and start rocking. Shaq's hilarity is at 7:15.
 
Well well well. Sounds like Brousard with his Sauces says Simmons will go ANYWHERE, but Philadelphia. So can we put that to rest "Ben only wants to go to CA teams" now that we have yet another unsubstantiated claim. ;)

Philly: Ben you are under contract which is massive and if you’re unhappy we will do whatever we want. You have zero leverage. Unless you don’t want $33m next year. Let us know.
