It was all over the news. Cj and 3 first round picks and 3 first round swaps. So CJ and 6 first round assets. Silly.

In fact, some in the media were saying that, because of the silly offer, you could argue Morey is not acting in good faith to get a deal done.

Actually it doesn't. Most would give no more for Simmons than CJ and many don't want him at all.

75% of respondents want Simmons for some package. And anyone who thinks Morey wasn't fueling the Dame is leaving PDX drama clearly doesn't know Morey's MO.

I have no love for Morey or the way he is handling this situation. OTOH, I think it is just a tad paranoid to say he is hurting the Blazers. We have no more "right" to trade for Simmons than any other team. Any team that has an interest in Simmons is in the same boat we are.

He's clearly been pushing the Dame wants to leave Portland BS over and over and they keep mentioning us as a trade partner, not for a reasonable package, but for the best player ever to play for our team in exchange for a guy they are suspending, Fuck Morey. If he doesn't want to trade with us fine, but STFU about Dame already Morey you Assclown.

I would like to point out that the number of times Kawhi DID step up far outnumber the number of times that Simmons did.

wait…. Did you mean to make a ridiculous comparison?

Are you trying to say Shams isn't a good source?
He’s fine but nobody bats 1.000. The amount of sources and reports these guys have, they’re bound to hit on some. I just know Philly wants a star, we all do, and CJ ain’t it. If everything falls apart, maybe they’ll come back around.

I don't think that's a silly offer, if it's real. People continue to act like pick swaps are basically the same as picks. They're a fraction of the value of actual picks...a tiny fraction. IMO, CJ (on the court) is nowhere near the value of Simmons--so three first round picks (one or two of them way into the future because of the Stepian Rule, which devalues them further) isn't that unreasonable and would make Portland a much better team. Reduce the three picks to two picks (and keep the pick swaps) and I think Portland would be crazy to turn it down.

I'd be surprised if Morey actually offered that.

There is no way knowing if it’s true but that is still a lot for Simmons

I think ESPN Insider should use their considerable influence and make this trade happen right now.

After last night, I feel like I would rather give them Roco than Little; but I'd like to see a few more games first.

Definitely would rather give Roco. He's more of a known quantity, but Little has much more upside. Imagine Simmons and Little as your starting forwards?

Talk about dynamic.

So glad to see Klutch look like idiots for their hold out demands. It was an anticipatory breach of contract and allowed the 6ers to legally hold his Oct 1st pay in escrow.

If they hadn't said those statements he could've got his 8 million check first then hold out.

I'm also enjoying Morey having an asset lose value. He overplayed his hand with Dwight Howard, wasn't able to trade him for anything, and Howard walked for nothing.

I hope all sides lose in this drama.

If Morey holds Simmons past the first week of the season, I would be surprised. Yeah the Sixers have leverage over Simmons, but they don't have leverage over the season. My prediction was that they'd trade Simmons during the first week of the season. Would be mind boggling if they kept him past that.

Roco's value on the floor is really tough to quantify and Nas seems a bit injury prone, but I would do it if they included one of Seth/Thybulle in return. Especially given Roco's contract status, this would be the easiest way to extract value for him. I hate that we gave up two picks for him.

They would have to to make the money work as is. I'd throw in a pick if it was Thybulle we'd be getting back.

Paul is a terrible agent. Anyone can get a max caliber player a max contract. He’s just living off Lebron’s back. If I were a prospect looking for representation I would go with Bartelstein. That guy routinely gets secondary players PAID. He’s also zero drama and GMs love him, some more than others wink wink.

CJ already showing the show. I still go strait CJ for Ben with no picks. And I would rather have RoCo and Nas in Portland.

So you think he'll be traded by Tuesday?

I doubt any teams offers have changed, why do you think Philly requirements will?

Morey is too stubborn to take less than what he perceives as good value. I dont think we see a trade until December 15th at the earliest.

I'd expect the 6ers let Ben sit at home and get paid at some point. They'll say he has lost x million in fines which is fair to save face.

The big question to me is if Philly will hold Ben past the trade deadline. Morey is too stubborn to take a trade he doesn't "win". But I can't imagine them going with Simmons on the roster until next summer.

Something has to break.

I wonder who or what exactly Morey is expecting in return? Dame isn’t happening. Like what’s it going to take for that something to break?

Rich Paul got Tristian Thompson and JR Smith way overpaid.

Helps when your going against a dumb owner.

Eric Bledsoe is earning 18 mil this year, and Aaron Gordon just signed a 4 yr, 92 million contract. And regardless of how greasy it seems, leveraging Lebron to get guys like Tristan Thompson, JR Smith, and KCP ridiculous contracts is a skill in itself.

Morey wants a Dame or Beal star.

I agree it's not happening now. Maybe we see a team do a stupid offer at the deadline Morey likes, certainly could happen. But if not it seems there is no end to this.

No way do they hold Simmons past deadline. I think it would be detrimental to the team to keep Simmons. Hopefully CJ keeps it up so we can get a deal done within the week.

Trading CJ does come with some major concerns. Where does your offense come from in crunch time if Dame isn’t hitting like last nights game? Does Ben create enough offense to help offset the loss of CJ? Does Powell or AS step up offensively.

i think Simons is more than capable. And Ben can create for others as well. Replacing 25 ppg should not be THAT difficult, especially if you are improved defensively.
