Its been a long time since I went to Bend, but I hear its nice. Big cities are more my speed though, even though Portland is small.

Thoughts?

No. One of my friends was just telling me how awesome it was and hes considering moving there over hawaii

sent from a phone you've probably never heard of

Def better than Hawaii. Bend over Portland if you're independently wealthy or don't need onsite employment.

Bend is my favorite place. I want to retire there. Unless the Californians over run it. Tell your friend to move to Hawaii.
Bend is a very, very nice place. Lots to do year round. They've done an amazing job of making the river a focal point for pretty much everything, especially in the summer. Boredom is a hard thing to experience in Bend. Brewpubs on about every corner it seems like, and more springing up all the time because of the water quality. But....yes, expensive. Bring an inheritance. And if you want to get over to the valley in the winter, you're pretty much fucked unless you want to white knuckle it (unless it's not a normal winter). And Mick? The Californicators overran Bend at least 15 years ago......those fuckers.....

Bend is a very nice place to visit. I would not want to live there. Too cold in the winter, not enough to other than hiking/fishing and the like.

Cold and Sunny. Perfect for Skiing or Snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor, best resort in Oregon.

I love Bend. I've got a place in Sunriver. I can't see myself living there year around though. I like going to ball games too much.

I think if you're old and golf or ski...Bend is the place...more sunshine than almost any place in Oregon year round..if you want to be around nightlife..Portland..actually if you want to be around young people, Portland. Bend is like Vale Colorado ...rustic..expensive..touristy

I eventually want to live in Bend. If I could get a job out there (or work remotely) I would totally make it happen. Love that place.

It's my son's goal to eventually live there..his girlfriend grew up there and he's a snowboarder...I just went up there for the micro brew fest a month ago..it's beautiful. I think if I chose an urban lifestyle I'd choose Portland again..it's the last city I lived in and there's the Blazers.

That's a lie, bro! Klamath Falls is the city of sunshine in Oregon, we get more sunny days than any other Oregon city!

I had the misfortune of working in Gresham for 7 years and for 28+ years in Salem. Now that you mention it, K Falls is lookin' good.......

I just recently had vacation at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond. Bend is BEAUTIFUL and the people were wonderfully nice.

I plan to return. I had a great time.

Bend is amazing. I hope to move there someday. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Bend is like a town built around the Pearl District. I haven't checked into their development in a long time but I know it was booming in 2007ish.

Hoity toity.

I'd live in Portland with a summer home in Bend.
