Okay, I am now more aware of the context, and I totally retract my shitfit against Bernie. He was only appearing to use "politically correct" to steer dumbass Trump voters towards The Truth. I blame Sly and his misleading thread title. Anyway, he also did give his definition:
Bernie said:
“What [political correctness] means is you have a set of talking points that have been poll-tested and focus group tested and that’s what you say, rather than what’s really going on. And often what you are not allowed to say are things that offend very, very powerful people.”
Which is, of course, nothing like what the wingnuts mean by it, so kudos to Bernie for fuckin' with them.
Of course, he still would've made a pretty crappy president. (WAY better than Trump, of course, but that's true of every president ever, including ones that aren't born yet.)
This had little to do with rednecks vs city folks, and more to do with Elitists vs Middle America. And "Middle America" encompasses far more of us than just folks who live out in the sticks.
I'm not buying into negative affirmations...I think this election will end up solving things that have nothing to do with Trump or his cabinet choices. Wake up call for the intellectual community and those of ways and means who've been in a Starbucks coma for a long time
