I didn't like Slobar that much. dunno. the bun kind of killed it for me.

has anyone tried that burger inbetween two grilled cheese sandwhiches?

Helvetia Tavern

I actually had one of those the other day. To be honest, while the burger was great, I liked the fries better that the burger, itself.

WHY DON'T THEY TAKE VISA OR MASTERCARD?!!!! :mad2:

Skyline Restaurant, FTW.

BTW, Cash only as well. They do have an atm in the place.

I've been to Nob Hill, but I didn't eat. I'll have to go back.

Two people have now told me that Calamity James in Sandy is the real meal (hamburger) deal. Anyone else attest to that?

Does anyone else remember The Carnival at the foot of Pill Hill? As a kid, that was my favorite place to get a burger.

Out of curiousity, where is Pill Hill in Portland? I grew up in Eugene and we had the same nickname for a certain area of town.

Haha, yes I did in fact. Place has been outta business for years but I always have fond memories every time I drive by the old location. I think it's like a Schucks auto parts or something now. BTW, anyone remember Arctic Circle?

hellz yeah!

5 Guys isn't too shabby for fast food either.

I have yet to have a spectacular burger in Portland. I have heard good things about Mortons burgers though.

The Voodoo Donut burger!

They got the crazy burgers. I used to eat there as a kid but will never go back after they were featured on Dirty Dining. Too bad.

anyone try the burgers at the Acrop?

I think they have some like 1 and 2lbers.

remember "Spankys" (which became Spunkys) burgers? Jamie's (1950s style chain) Hot n Now...those were the days!

Wilson's in Hillsboro is epic. Even deeper west side, Rogue Garlic Burger in North Plains. But in town, someone mentioned Skyline, and that is legit. Cafe Nell in NW has a ridiculous burger as well. And certainly, as someone else said, you can't go wrong with a five guys.

p.s. Helvetia.

There's a little dive bar & grill in downtown Milwaukie that has a bacon cheeseburger that drips off your elbow. Add deep fried tater tots and one can actually feel their arteries harden while they eat- my kind of food!
