I'm thinking the Blues Fest (LOTS there), Steely Dan, Ziggy Marley, or, perhaps, John Mayer.

What say you?

Bluesfest is cool. The Zoo has some good shows sometimes.

Also, every Thursday evening during the summer Esther Short has concerts. They've had some pretty good bands there too. If I remember right, the Steve Miller Band was there last year.

Tiesto on June 28th would be awesome, and I see the Crystal Method is playing as well.

I definitely want to see Tiesto, just because he's the biggest. I was listening to some of his music from like 1993.. That guy has been doing this for a long time.

I've been listening to him since the mid-90s. My DJ style was along the lines of Tiesto and Paul Oakenfold. I wasn't nearly that good, LOL, but I like synths and trance and incorporated it with big drops. I still spin for my kids sometimes, but my wife actually is so over that music that I think she'd be fine never hearing EDM again.

I will say that using a PC these days makes it much easier to DJ. When I started, you were mixing vinyl.

Kansas at the Linn County Fair July 18th.

Foghat at River Rythms (free show) at Monteith Park on August 8th.

Both here in Albany.

Man, I'd love BOTH of those shows! Maybe see ya there. :)

I remember seeing Foghat @ the Memorial Coliseum. Sammy Hagar was their intro.

Got back from Paradiso at the Gorge Amphitheater last night. It was the most fun weekend of my life so far.. so many people and all of them are just as happy as can be.

I saw Jack Johnson out at the Gorge..fucking dope.

From that article:

"When you have cocaine and LSD and meth all mixed together, it just does terrible things to your body," she said. "Your heart doesn't tolerate it very well, your breathing does not tolerate it very well."

What? There's no cocaine, LSD, or meth in molly.. And when those things or other drugs are mixed with molly that's what makes it ecstasy.

Molly is pure MDMA, this is a poorly researched and written article.

Vanilla, how was the Tiesto set on Friday?

I'm guessing the hospital visits had more to do with dehydration than anything else. E makes you sweat like a beast, and when it's already 90 degrees out, you need to be sucking down water, because you body is doing everything it can to flush the MDMA out of it. A gallon every few hours wouldn't be too much on a hot day of dancing and using E.

There are also very few places to get water inside the venue, and at those places there are huge lines, you have to miss at least 30 minutes of music to get water. It was ridiculous.

Tiesto was fantastic, so much energy the whole two hour set. I didn't leave "The Pit" the whole time!

But my favorite set was actually Madeon, a 19 year old French DJ who mixes everything live and didn't pick up the microphone once. So many different kinds of energy and emotions came during that set.

I was actually going to see Madeon last night in Vegas at XS nightswim but our dinner ran too late and we were too full. Saw Bob Sinclar and Dmitri Vegas and Like mike, Steve Aoki and Sultan and Ned Shepard....at various clubs and pools all weekend.

anyway, this is Wolfgang Gartner at Sasquatch....I've seen him at XS..he's fucking great.

Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike were definitely one of my favorites at Paradiso as well, and I'd love to see Wolfgang Gartner.. I'm pretty sure I heard Shrunken Heads by him played at least 4 times throughout the two days, and I went crazy every time.

Soooo now it's July, and I'll be going to What The Festival this month!

It's less well known musicians, but a bunch of different genres and more of a giant camping party with music than Paradiso was.

There's a playlist at the bottom of their website where you can listen to a song by each of the artists that'll be there.

First concert I went to was autzen stadium in Eugene. Seen Eddie Money, Outlaws, Santana, and the Dead. Eddie Money sucked, Outlaws out jammed Santana, and the Dead was great. Santana just came out and played like straight off the record no jamming really disappointing.

I seen the Dead again at PIR. I've seen them four or five times. One of the times that I seen them in the Memorial Coliseum St Helens went off the second time right in the middle of them playing Fire on the Mountain.

I seen Can Heat and at the time Sea Food Mama along with a few other bands at the Portland Speed Way. Me and a couple friends took Bear some beer while he was on stage between songs. Six months later he died.

I seen some local bands at I think it was Eagle Creek park, but I don't even remember the bands names, did have a good time.

Man, today would be a PERFECT day to be @ the Blues Festival!! :MARIS61:
