Good call on that location (provided you are walking there; parking is a nightmare). I lived by the one on Belmont back when it was there, and the hipster line sucked the enjoyment out of it. I could have ground the wheat, raised the chickens, and slaughtered the pig myself in less time than it took to get that sandwich.

Yeah it's weird! I've become quite the snob with beef. But that place I just talked about is grass fed prime beef. The quality is superb! Still a little expensive, but I will pay for good quality

Pambiche is a Cuban joint over on like 30th and Glisan? Maybe more closer to 20th.

The place you're thinking of is Andina. It was pretty good.

Just took my wife to Portland City Grill Tuesday for her birthday. First time there and it was fantastic. We went to El Gaucho for our anniversary this fall and DAMN! Worth every peso.

I disagree. They're all good, but no place is worth waiting in line for an hour (especially ice cream or doughnuts) when you can throw a stone in any direction and hit another good restaurant. If I want to eat at any place that's known to have a long line I'll choose a time and location that'll nearly guarantee a walk-in-and-sit-down dining experience.
As far as I'm concerned the downtown Voodoo is for out-of-towners only.

for out of towners like me, its worth it.

you have to wait for brunch everywhere these days, sometimes you can get something simliar, but if you have a craving for something specific, you need to get it.

Tips for a convenient brunch in Portland:

1. Have breakfast instead. Get up at 7am, and be at the restaurant by 8:30am. Hipsters don't wake up before 9am.
2. Go on Saturday. Hipsters are atheists, so they go to breakfast instead of church.
3. There's usually a restaurant five block from where you're waiting in line that has no line at all. 99% of all brunches in Portland are better than that cereal you were going to have, so branch out and find something new.

Things like Dim Sum (which I do 2-3 times per month), that's unavoidable, its a 30-45 minute wait and that's with a huge room, fast (rude) service and them trying to get you outta there.

Hell yes. Cup And Saucer's Lucky Scramble was my go-to. Within walking distance and empty before 9am.

My personal favorite is Joe's Scramble/Special which is spinach, mushrooms, eggs and ground beef. I made it a point to get it where they invented it when I was in the Bay arrrrreeaaa.

I watched a video of a black guy ordering in Chinese at a restaurant. The waitress was like "you don't want that, get this instead". So I totally understand what you mean.
