Best Team in the NHL vs Florida

I'll wait on MSL's injury after MRI. No one
knows how serious his injury is.

Totally agree Caged. A "pop" is not good, glad AV had good things to say but the MRI will tell all

Florida had a lot more to play for and showed it. They are very young but have a lot of big guys. Thought the refs let them get away with a lot of cheap stick work, need to throw someone in the box when they're repeatedly slashing. Great game by Cam and thank you James Sheppard for taking the body to start the play that ended with him getting a nice tip in. Will it open AV's eyes to the fact that he could be an upgrade to Glass? Hopefully just a sprain for MSL.

Also congrats to Hunwick on netting his first goal in 93 games, while he may not offer much physically that was a nice shot.

You can call them the best team if they win the cup. Otherwise, who cares if they finish first overall. They don't play for that.

It's all about the cup this year. It will be very disappointing if they don't make another deep run.

Agreed. Winning the Pres trophy means NOTHING...

AV has two of those. AV has ZERO cups. Win the cup. No one cares about the Pres trophy.

If true that is no issue to me. Actually could be a blessing to give him some rest before the playoffs. Regular season ends 26 days from today, so get him back for the last handful of games, and hopefully Hank as well, and away we go. If they each had 5 games +/- to get ready, that would be perfect (we have 6 games in April starting on the 2nd in Minny).

Totally agree - Rest at 39 can only be good anyway

Another example of something that could've been much worse.

Hornqvist and Malkin both out 1-2 weeks for the Pens. Leddy out for the Isles.

Injuries happen for all teams this time of year.

Another reason why all I care about now is everyone back for the playoffs. The Pres trophy means zero to me.

Yes, the president trophy is not all that and does not mean much. However, I would still like to have a home ice advantage and game 7 at MSG in the finals. Remember 94. I am not so sure they would've won game 7 in Vancouver that year. This team is younger and faster so who knows.

I think it would be wise for AV to give every player a game off now and then. Even with Klein's injury Yandle's acquisition still allows a prospect, be it McIlrath or Allen to come up and get some experience. With the back to backs and heightened intensity of the last 10 games it would keep them fresh until Klein returns. Sheppard steps into the starting lineup with Glass and Moore?

Just reading this morning that teams are limited to four call-ups after the trade deadline (article 13.12.1 of the CBA), and that we used two of them on trade deadline day on Summers and Klinsberg since they were signed after the 3PM deadline. This is prob the reason that we are not seeing (and will not see) McIlrath or Allen or anybody else up here anytime soon.....

Need to save those two call-ups in case someone really gets hurt and we don't have a roster player that can take their spot....

Not sure if we get any additional call ups once the playoffs start, other than emergency call ups, which have to be approved by the league (I think)

I never knew that rule....

Also, pretty piss-poor work on the NYR office to not get those trades done before the deadline, thus burning two of those four call-ups on a couple of scrubs...
