more like how uncomfortable Joe must feel wearing that medallion bling in public...must feel like one of the Bee Gees....should've shown some chest hair and rocked some spandex to complete the ensemble

Fun fact, Biden wrote the original bill that went on to become the Patriot Act.

Explain why you even like Trump. It would be an interesting read.

Oh, tons of reasons. So many that I wouldn't even know where to start. "Scorned for 8 years by the Left" is a good enough reason.

When all you can do is point at someone and call them a racist, misogynistic, homophobe, and whatever else have you, without even understanding what you're saying, or why you feel the way that you do (most likely because the Liberal Media and elitist celebrities told you it was the "hip" thing to do).....then it makes it pretty easy to support the candidate you're insulting.

Obama spent 8 years trying to win the popularity contest, and using emotion to win hearts.

Trump doesn't give a shit about your emotions, and he sure as fuck doesn't give a shit about no popularity contest.

That's why I like him (among other reasons).

That being said, I'm far from one of his blind, hat-wearing followers:
  • The wall isn't going to do a fucking thing other than score brownie points for his base. Even the dumbest Cartel member is going to find a way to get over or under it.
  • He would do well to steer clear of Russia and Putin and not ally himself with that corrupt dictator. Hold Putin accountable for any hacking, and hold him accountable for war crimes in Syria.
  • Instead of erasing Obamacare altogether, I think a better solution would be to simply modify it to erase the tax penalty, and allow people to go out-of-state for their insurance coverage.
  • He needs to stop bullshitting people with his supposed "job creation", and give us the nitty-gritty on what businesses already had plans to invest here in the US, and which businesses he ACTUALLY influenced.
  • He needs to get the fuck off of Twitter. Quite frankly, I don't feel that the 2 minutes that he spends out of his 16 hour work day on Twitter is that big of a deal. But the problem is that he has no filter. And while I really do admire his "No PC" attitude, often times his rants on Twitter are not constructive.
  • Stop holding Boeing hostage. You know we need new 747s for AF1. Get the goddamn deal done. It's great that you want to be budget-conscious about it, Trump...but don't hold Boeing hostage while doing it.
  • He needs to release his taxes. I don't give a shit what he paid or didn't pay, and if he beat the system legally, then he should be able to show it. It shows credibility and transparency.
  • Get a proper no-contact trust between your companies. Not the little sham-show you put on in that press conference.
That's all for now. The Falcon game is coming on, and I want to see Matt Ryan embarrass Seattle.

I voted for him, he's my president, and I support him. I've always prided myself on looking at ALL the evidence, and thinking for myself. But like fuck if I'm going to follow him blindly. I WILL hold him accountable for stupid shit.

According to Google, it was written by Jim Sensenbrenner. And no, I have no idea who that is.

"Anti-terror" legislation
The next year, months before the Oklahoma City bombing took place, Biden introduced another bill called the Omnibus Counterterrorism Act of 1995. It previewed the 2001 Patriot Act by allowing secret evidence to be used in prosecutions, expanding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and wiretap laws, creating a new federal crime of "terrorism" that could be invoked based on political beliefs, permitting the U.S. military to be used in civilian law enforcement, and allowing permanent detection of non-U.S. citizens without judicial review. The Center for National Security Studies said the bill would erode "constitutional and statutory due process protections" and would "authorize the Justice Department to pick and choose crimes to investigate and prosecute based on political beliefs and associations."

Biden himself draws parallels between his 1995 bill and its 2001 cousin. "I drafted a terrorism bill after the Oklahoma City bombing. And the bill John Ashcroft sent up was my bill," he said when the Patriot Act was being debated, according to the New Republic, which described him as "the Democratic Party's de facto spokesman on the war against terrorism."

Biden's chronology is not accurate: the bombing took place in April 1995 and his bill had been introduced in February 1995. But it's true that Biden's proposal probably helped to lay the groundwork for the Bush administration's Patriot Act.

In 1996, Biden voted to keep intact an ostensibly anti-illegal immigration bill that outlined what the Real ID Act would become almost a decade later. The bill would create a national worker identification registry; Biden voted to kill an Abraham-Feingold amendment that would have replaced the registry with stronger enforcement. According to an analysis by the Electronic Privacy Information Center, the underlying bill would have required "states to place Social Security numbers on drivers licenses and to obtain fingerprints or some other form of biometric identification for licenses."

Along with most of his colleagues in the Congress -- including Sen. John McCain but not Rep. Ron Paul -- Biden voted for the Patriot Act and the Real ID Act (which was part of a larger spending bill). Obama voted for the bill containing the Real ID Act, but wasn't in the U.S. Senate in 2001 when the original Patriot Act vote took place.

Patriot Act
In the Senate debate over the Patriot Act in October 2001, Biden once again allied himself closely with the FBI. The Justice Department favorably quotes Biden on its Web site as saying: "The FBI could get a wiretap to investigate the mafia, but they could not get one to investigate terrorists. To put it bluntly, that was crazy! What's good for the mob should be good for terrorists."

The problem is that Biden's claim was simply false -- which he should have known after a decade of experience lending his name to wiretapping bills on behalf of the FBI. As CDT explains in a rebuttal to Biden: "The Justice Department had the ability to use wiretaps, including roving taps, in criminal investigations of terrorism, just as in other criminal investigations, long before the Patriot Act."

I have one all time, long lasting image of Biden. Way back when the first assault weapons ban was being debated in the Senate. There is Joe, standing on the Senate floor making like he is holding a machine gun, both hands like he had an M60. Vocally making the machine gun sound, eh eh eh eh as he acts out mowing down his peers.

My thought for that day was, What a fucking tool!!!
Machine guns were not in the ban, all the guns targeted were semiautomatics. Machine guns had been dealt with way before this day.

Medal of Freedom! Hell, that's not what the man has more than earned!

Do you remember his explanation about why people don't need an AR-15, and how to scare an intruder with a double-barrel shotgun by walking out onto your porch and firing both barrels into the air?

The guy is a fucking moron when it comes to common sense.

There was someone here in Vancouver a year or two ago that tried that, and then told the police that Joe Biden told him to do it.

They were not amused. And he was arrested.

Not sure what happened to him though.

It's just proof that you can't fix stupid.

I kind a find it best not to even try.:cool2:

You have to admit....it would have been an interesting argument...

"Mr. Jones, why did you discharge your gun illegally?"

"Well, Your Honor....the Vice President told me to."

Ha! Well, when I go into court, or any battle for that matter, I want to know how to win.
I don't think that will do it.

Here's some actual history about Joe...
He served an instrumental role in passing the bipartisan initiative to create a Commission on Civil Rights in 1983, to introducing the 1986 Global Climate Protection Act, to establishing an annual National Mammography Awareness Day, and to authoring the Rail Security Act of 2007 to regulate the transportation of hazardous materials on American railways, Senator Biden consistently works to tackle America's toughest challenges.

Authored the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994
2007 Biden Crime Bill

Recently introduced the College Affordability and Creating Chances for Educational Success for Students (ACCESS) Act...

He also authored legislation to help foreign countries address the threats of bioterrorism and nuclear or radiological ("dirty bombs") terrorism. And he sought to expand programs to destroy unsecured weapons of mass destruction and dangerous materials in the former Soviet Union and beyond.

Visit his senate site and see. It's not a matter of opinion. It's all FACT.
respect the good guys is my motto....Joe is one of them

That's funny....for all those accomplishments, he goes and says something as stupid as "fire a double barrel shotgun into the air twice to scare off an intruder". And he has the audacity to act arrogant and condescending about it.

And people wonder why I don't listen to Democrats when it comes to anything related to guns.

Trump doesn't give a shit about your emotions, and he sure as fuck doesn't give a shit about no popularity contest.

First part is absolutely correct, but I think you got that second part wrong. If he didn't give a shit he wouldn't be so butt hurt about losing the popular vote.

Good list. I predict you'll have lots more to add to it soon.

I don't think he cares as much as the media is letting on about. Oh he made a stink about the popularity vote. So what? Hillary would have done the same if their roles were reversed.

And I predict that I won't have much to add to it soon. I think he's perfectly capable of getting shit done.

I should also clarify on something that I didn't go into detail on because I was trying to watch the game, and it only has to do with Russia: As much as I think he should distance himself from Putin, I also like the idea of both him and Putin wiping out ISIS in the Middle East, as long as they avoid civilian casualties. And I would rather hold my nose and support an alliance with Russia if it means avoiding a war with Russia over the Middle East.

But I'm under no illusions about Putin: he's a dictator who was brought to power on the backs of criminals and the mafia. He puts the "corrupt" in "corruption". And I don't trust him at all.

..have you ever peaked at the quote book of the guy you voted for???

It makes his own party cringe and have to play apologist almost every time he has a sound bite.

Oh he's not PC. So what. If he can bring jobs here to the US and improve the economy, then I wipe my ass with what he says.

That's not being apologist, that's looking at the bigger picture, and choosing not to be offended by mere words. More dumbasses are offended by the 2 minutes a day he spends on Twitter, than they are about his entire 16 hour work day. There's something wrong with that.

Those are called gaffe's. Trump hasn't even been in office yet and he's already made himself look like a fool so many times. This is a guy who routinely downplays revered people like John McCain and John Lewis' contributions to this country and calls everybody 'overrated'.

Guy doesn't do 16 hour days. He doesn't even attend intelligence briefings.

I respect the hell out of both of those men and the contributions that they've made to this country.

But don't fool yourself for one minute into believing that they are beyond reproach. McCain is as out of touch with Average Americans as is possible for anyone in the Republican party to be, and Lewis is as out of touch with everyone in his District as is possible to be as well. Not to mention his District IS a complete and total fuck up. It's an utter mess, and he hasn't addressed it with any meaningful contributions in years.

Kudos to you.

Your future President sure don't. They were a critic of him. So now they are dipwits.
