I think Biden is pretty awesome. Let's compare the sheer mis-speaking of Biden over 20 years there to Bush over 4.

Every politician mis-speaks or says something dumb. At least Biden (tries to) appeal in a genuine way to the common person. If they wouldn't have had cameras at the "beer meet" earlier this year I'm pretty sure Biden would be there the rest of the afternoon rambling with those two.

Actually, I need to take that back. My only opinion of him is based on pretty much the crap like this that leaks the media. I really have no clue about him other than this. So I respectfully retract my statement and claim ignorance.

I really don't pay attention to politics and it seems that only the bad stuff gets media attention.

I still am learning to aim before I shoot. Not quite there yet.

This may sound stupid, but a lot of you guys on this forum are helping me become a man. I never had a father around to teach me anything like this. And a lot of you guys put me in my place when I say stupid stuff... and I really think it is helping me become a better person.

Biden is OK as a veep. He just has a habit of mis-speaking. Many of us do. Only most of us aren't in politics. I hear nice things about him as a person.

The sad part is it isn't like the REALLY old days when you could actually go to the White House and ask for an audience with the Pres or VP...now and days you even get within 50 feet of the wall and they're already watching you.

I honestly think it would do officials good from both side of the aisle if they had some "commoners" like us come in once a day to talk to them about issues...

About half of those are simply accurate statements, and I don't know why they're included. The Slate is reading things into them that aren't there.

Another 1/4th are out of context (things he said while campaigning against Obama).

The remaining gaffes are good-natured, funny mistakes.

I love when he speaks from his heart:
