Sort of playing around . . . had a bad day (yelled in my office a couple times today, which is rare for me) . . . not as excited about the news as everybody else, so I thought I would take my frustrations of the day out with a little bitching about this situation.

I better vent now, corporate might start deleting my posts soon. :)

I think that site turned to dust about five years ago and it's been squatted on by homeless people from Detroit.

Just to be clear. The Blazers approached us. The first discussion we had, I made it clear we would not sell out, we do not want to change our rules, we have like 3 words in our profanity filter, etc.

If they wanted to change that or buy the site, there would be no deal.

To their credit, they see the value in what we are. They want to associate with us because what we do makes us the best Blazers board, period.

They went to bat with the NBA lawyers to get us a deal I knew would be great for you. This is not a sellout deal. It is a way to develop synergies between an avid loyal fan base and the team.

Everything I've seen from them says they have a clue. They've been great to deal with, and they want to be hands off. They specifically said they are human and make mistakes, and the fans should speak their minds.

The deal is already in place. Nobody's being edited or being treated any differently.

I'm convinced the deal brings extra value to you. Already guys who work for the Blazers are posting. Our meet & greets gave been great, and more are sure to come.

Let's make the most of this. Figure out ways we can leverage the software, community, and the Blazers' assets that are win-win and watch them happen.
