Bill Simmons gives his uninformed opinion on LaMarcus (1 Viewer)

I'd always notice LaMarcus would be excused from practices, when in Texas, over the years.
A perk no other players seemed to get.
This makes it obvious that time with his family, or time in Texas with those he grew up with, is very important to him.

I think this will play a big part in his decision - and if he has a chance to re-locate back to his native state - I can see him doing that. And I wouldn't be angry with him. Wouldn't you do the same thing?
The question is - is close proximity to family, being 'home' and less flight mileage per year worth 20 or so million that he'd potentially lose?

I agree and it seems like the only incentive he gave the Blazers was if you really blew me away with expectations. He only gave the LMA/Dame era one healthy playoff run which was last year

The only way people would be upset is if he went to the Lakers.

Other than that, no one would be upset if he went to SA, DAL.

LOL at Simmons saying BOS is a better basketball situation for Aldridge than POR. Seriously, they are so craptastic they couldn't even post a winning record in the worst division of the worst conference in the history of the universe. 40-42 in the Atlantic Division is pathetic. They got to beat up on 18-win PHI and 17-win NYK all year and still couldn't win more games than they lost. Last I checked, they are down 0-3 and about to get swept. So, Aldridge is supposed to leave $29 million of guaranteed money to go play for that shitty team. And, if he's worried POR will never get that third star to make a finals run in Portland, exactly who is going to be his 3rd (or even 2nd) star in BOS. They are a team of role players without a single all-star on their roster.

And Simmons thinks POR fans are a bunch of soccer mom/homers... Is there a more delusional homer than Bill Simmons?

BNM

Simmons is a smart guy. I actually enjoy his takes for the most part. But, he knows he can rile up a smart, passionate, intelligent fan base like ours by saying stuff like this. He knows what makes us tick.

He's still butt hurt that we and Seattle won the lotto over Boston

How telling would it be that LMA would leave 30 freaking million dollars, a team fully healthy started 30-8, only one healthy playoff run in the LMA/Dame era (last year), if he went elsewhere?

Damn

Damn
He's staying... I would even wager $$$$ on it

How exactingly is Dame hurting LA's commercial opportunities. I am sure if he wanted to do more, then he would. He just doesn't look like he really enjoys being in front of the camera.

I agree with him about SA though. You don't want to follow Timmy.
