BioShock -- am I the only one...

Am I the only one who bought BioShock when it came out, mostly because of the glowing reviews it got, only to have to force myself to play it?</p>

I've had it for weeks (months?) and I haven't beaten it. I think I'm about half way through the game. I'm just not inspired to play it.</p>

I couldn't put Halo 3 down and I've been playing 2K quite a bit. BioShock just sits there.</p>

I like the graphics, the atmosphere, and the gameplay is fine. The story is interesting. Just, for some reason, it doesn't stick with me.</p>

Is it just me?</p>

With Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed and a bunch of other slick games coming out soon I think BioShock's days on my shelf are numbered. Probably worth thirty or more bucks for the trade in value...</p>

I knew from the first time I saw that game on GameSpot.com that it was going to be bad, And I knew it.</p>

Sell it at GameStop, or trade it for another game.</p>

How can you say it is bad, when you only like ps3 games, and know nothing about xbox and their games.</p>

CelticBlood, why do you on every gaming thread have to bash the 360 and every good game on the console? Your post above you said Bioshock is a bad game, well how would you know? You dont have a 360 and by the looks of the reviews Bioshock is a game of the year candidate.</p>

Yeah speeds, I own the game, its a great game, one of the best out there for the 360, but I understand what you're saying. I haven't played it that much, I'm somewhere probably not yet in the middle of the game. While my brother has almost finished it. But yeah you need a lot of concentration to play that game, so much to do to stay alive. It's a very long game. haha</p>

I feel the same way, it's not just you. The first day I played BioShock, I thought it was rather cool, and now it's nothing special. I don't think I'm even close to beating it yet, but I just can't seem to pop the disc into the 360 and play. I'm spending most of my time playing 2k8 right now, and Bioshock is just sitting on my shelf.</p>

I was actually thinking of renting Bioshock over the weekend because I finally have some spare time off work and such, for the little amount I played it I really enjoyed it and seems like a good game.</p>

As for you Speeds I guess not everyone is going to like every game that gets good reviews and such, its just personal preferance....kindof like if someone played Madden 09 and hated it because he doesnt enjoy football while critics rave its the best football game to date. Like me for example, when I played Oblivion I hated it and still do and couldnt really force myself to get into the game all the while it was supposudly one of the best of the year.</p>

I have the same issue. I honestly think it's the best game on the system. The gameplay is amazing, the story is great, the graphics, to me, are the best on the system. In general, it's what all games should be, and is the game of the year at this point. Despite that though, I find myself going to NBA 2K8 frequently, and I also have dove into Oblivion again, as I bought the Game of the Year addition of that. In general, I have too many games right now to just play one.</p>

That is a great problem to have! Not having enough time to enjoy all of them would be quite a problem however.</p>

I dont have it, but Im sure its a game worth owning, since most reviews claimed it was a pretty good game. I currently have Halo 3 and I cant get enough of it...great game, love the movie feature.</p>

Getting back on topic, its amazing what they did with those tapes that you get around and play them, its like you're in a movie, trying to figure things out. And I agree probably best game on the 360 right now. And its not a game for kids (lets say 12 and under), they'll get bored with it pretty quick.</p>

Well the framerate and other graphical problems on the PS3 just seem to make the games better on PS3. Just can't experience that same poor quality on XBOX 360.</p>

Well I have to say the graphics would be way better than 360's, gameplay I don't know its probaly the same as 360, and its just easier to play with PS3's controller, its much more simple and makes it more fun, it fits in your hand perfectly.</p>
