Bird promoted and will be up in cleveland tonight. They need to play this kid at first and dh and not glue him to the bench. Looking forward to seeing him play. Where the hell is refsnyder though
 
...watching Bird in ST, I was impressed....sweet swing.
 
I like it. I think this kid is going to be solid.
 
OK, if he's playing 1st, what do we do with Tex if A-Rod is at DH? Someone has to sit...
 
...^^^ and hammer, that's exactly why they could have use some of their prospects as trade chips to improve this team...I mean, for example, why hold on to prospects like Jagielo, Wade, Sanchez, Mateo, et al, if their promotion to the big leagues is blocked by the roster and/or current contracts for the foreseeable future?...they'll likely be stuck in the minors for years anyway.
 
With McCann locked in & Murphy being solid as a BU I don't see Sanchez getting a shot any time soon so in this case he would have made a pretty good trade chip.

I'd like to see Jagielo or Mateo given a chance, but we don't need Wade & Mateo..
 
...Headley and his ill-advised contract is pretty much locked in for years at 3B so I don't see much of a future for Jagielo...same with Mateo because the Yanx brass probably thinks DiDi is God although he's simply a mediocre SS.

At times, I can't help but think players or their agents, have more control over their Contracts, ( for both amount of years, and money), than Trashman does.......No doubt our GM, has dug a hole deep enough to warrant firing.

It probably will take Armageddon for Hank to fire Trashman, with his long term deals, and over paying for most talent he obtains, ....

With Headley's 18 errors, Chase looks fugly playing 3rd, both with glove and arm. My only consolation, is: He could be worse, ............
yet that won't suffice either.........

Here's one, not a Yankee, but: Dick Allen committed 41 errors for the Phils in 1964, now that is beyond horrid......

Yep, Dick Allen, often played with a chip on His shoulder, (from other peer Team mates who stated as much), and boy could he fkn hit, like ya' said as hard as anyone.....

excluding all the greats, who hit the ball like they were teeing off to the moon, Mantle, Allen, R. Jackson, D. Allen, Willie Horton, et al.

one of the few almost anonymous (to kids growing up today), hitters, who hit the ball as hard as anyone I've seen in person, was Brian Downing.

I never cared for his full open stance, then he'd line his feet back up straight, as His timing mechanism, even then, I still did not like the way he approached hitting, but, when Downing Connected, holy flying cheetos, boy was the ball scorched...
