I'm all for a new party, but I hope we don't splinter off into each minority group having their own parties.

Well, actually, if that leads to more accurate representation, I'm for it.

Black people have effectively picked the last two candidates the DNC has put forth. Hillary and Biden both got their win from gaining a insurmountable lead in the southern states on super tuesday. If black people didn't like those two candidates they could have pushed through someone else, I feel like there were candidates both times who would have represented their interests better but we got who we got. Splitting votes into another party is not a winning idea, especially when your demographic is only about 14% of the total population.

I think it’s only a matter of time before the Democrats fracture because of all the competing interest groups. The party glue only lasts as long as people feel they are getting their demands considered.

Agreed.

I'm not sure we even need a president anymore...we need a council of experts that represent a diverse set of interests to lead the country...one person or party really can't do that. I'm ready for more major change in politics than most people are considering....and term limits across the board...no one political party should have power to stop progress or work against a healthy form of leadership...no party should dominate congress or the senate or the executive branch of govt....want to shake it up! Think big! Joe Biden was the only candidate I've ever heard say he'd considering a Republican running mate..that it's the skills not the allegiance..that's thinking outside the status quo...

Right now on one side there is a looming white power branch in charge (trump republicans). On the other side the most Black rights and civil rights focused populous we’ve had in decades. Those of us supporting BLM from all angles need to come together and use our collective strengths, not fracture into teams. Otherwise the racist societal structures and ongoing disparities won’t change and team Trump (racists) will win.

In my opinion, unfortunately any vote NOT for the democratic candidate is a vote FOR the Republican one.
Yeah, but thats kind of like Joe said that upset many, "If you don't vote for me you aint Black". People should vote for whom they want, not for two screwed up parties. I want a third or forth party with equal opportunity. BLM is a great idea, but even within the black demographic you have evangelicals and moderate's, it would be diverse. The radical right and left could have their parties too.

We have several parties now....it's money that needs to leave the race....how many people can name the candidates from the Libertarian, Constitutional, Green or independent parties....see any in the debates? Me neither......money keeps them from having a fair shot.....I voted Gary Johnson last time but I'm not taking any Trump risk this time...we also need to follow most of the world and make campaigns 6 weeks long start to finish. this 2 year campaign is insanely expensive and taxing of our resources and in the end you have burned out presidents serving a first term

Yep money and that money comes from media, lobbyist, huge donors and so many more. The 2 party system has been a lock and they want to keep it that way the last thing they want is additional parties with equal representation to compete against the elite on both sides of the RNC & DNC. I voted Gary Johnson too because I couldn't in good conscience for the DNC & RNC champions.
Joe's got my vote now, unless he gets real wacko and sells his soul to the extreme rads on either side. The DNC & RNC are nothing more than country clubs for self serving, corrupt, win at all cost, politicians that have for the most part been bough and paid for.

Politicians and govt workers should get military pay grade checks...and not be able to profit until they leave govt in my view...that would change the type of person who'd follow that career path and vetting needs to be deep and thorough before a candidate can run for office...no pay for play and definitely no pending lawsuits ...how the fuck Trump slipped through those cracks baffles me..worst vetting job ever in American history

BLM will do far better for themselves by forming an interest group within the Democratic party. That's what the evangelists did within the Republican party--most Republicans aren't evangelical and don't share their far right-wing social views, but evangelists made themselves a voting bloc that the Republican party doesn't dare piss off for fear of losing a big chunk of votes.

Splitting into a new party will just ensure Republicans win every election, which would be much, much worse for the aims of the "BLM party." On the other hand, I agree that they can't just accept status quo from the Democratic party. Black people (I'd add other minority voters, but often times different minorities have different visions) need to organize themselves into a unified bloc to demand a piece of the platform from Democrats.

If democrats don't want to see a BLM political party I suggest they focus on the concerns and needs of black Americans.
Any political party has to walk a tight rope or we'll wind up with another Trump.

Good points. I guess the only decent thing to come out of this administration is that serious changes need to be made as we have experienced corruption so obvious at the highest level. I would also like to see a bipartisan committee formed that decided judges rather than have one person (the president) to have that power as that kind of power (like we have now) has shown to be very dangerous. We have been exposed to the closest thing to a dictatior that we have ever seen.

Im with ya on the changes needed for sure and Im voting Joe however, Joe's comment is typical of a groomed lifetime politician in that they will say what people want to hear and never do it. Its the warm fuzzy effect they want to sell.

Context matters.

Yeah, if they're handing out tokens and yours is black and someone asks you what you are holding in your hand, and you say "token" and then they say what color it is, it's OK to say "black".

So the Millionaire Marxist took the money and ran. Deserted her little army of middle-aged Caucasian spinsters, moved on up with all their Go Fund Me donations and retired from "activism" to a life of hedonism.

Still bringing up Hillary Clinton?

Did she take Baron with her back to eastern europe? In fairness her "activism" was pretty much spent redecorating and shopping with Don's money....I didn't realize she'd left Mar Lago already...thanks for the heads up! Putin will be so proud to have her back in the neighborhood
