Trial of the cop....

In these types of trials it all comes down to what the instructions to the jury is.

Doesn't matter if the jury thinks the officer is guilty.

It's BS things like, "Is it reasonable the officer could have felt he was in danger if he were to let up from the suspect."

In many cases the DA will charge a cop but when it comes time for the trial they will agree with the defense on very limiting instructions on what the jury can consider.

That's the desired outcome. The DA went after the "bad cop" but it was the jury's fault for not doing the right thing. When in reality things were set up all along to let the cop off or found guilty of minor charges.
