Veteran cop is suspended for posting 'All Lives Splatter' meme after a woman is killed when driver plowed into her at BLM protest in Seattle
  • Seattle cop Mike Brown was suspended after he allegedly posted an offensive meme following the death of a woman killed in a Black Lives Matter protest
  • The veteran cop of 40 years and cousin of Washington State Governor Jay Inslee is also being investigated over the post, which doesn't mention the woman killed

Didn't realize dispatch made up 50% of the budget.

I think it's obvious that it doesn't, lol.

Tweet refers to one part of the plan.

And if it does all the more reason to take it was from the police, lol.

Found the Seattle Times article that tweet was based on.

The Police Department’s budget is $409 million this year...

The Police Department’s call center already is staffed almost exclusively by civilian dispatchers, rather than sworn officers, and has an annual budget of about $36 million

Even if they move 911 I don't see how they can cut half the police budget. But hey, it's low hanging fruit and it makes it look like the politicians are doing something.

I enjoyed the podcast you sent me awhile ago. Man, that police chief dude from Camden, NJ rocked it!

In Portland 911 is it's own bureau.

911 is for medical, fire, and police. Having dispatchers not under the control of the police seems like a good thing to me.
