Let’s assume that a cop had a 9 mm despite the AG report. Let’s assume that the friendly fire scenario is true and the cop who was wounded was shot by another cop. It makes no difference as to whether murder charges should have been filed. Kenneth Walker admits he fired a round at the people breaking into the apartment. That’s all that is needed for the police to be justified in returning fire. The police entered the premises legally and were shot at. They can shoot back.

New Body-Cam Footage Raises Questions About Breonna Taylor Death Investigation

Footage and documents obtained by VICE News depict Louisville police officers apparently violating department policies and cast doubt on the integrity of the crime scene and the investigation.

Hours of body camera footage from Louisville Metro Police Department officers and SWAT team members paint a telling picture of the immediate aftermath of the police raid in which Breonna Taylor was killed.

The footage, which was obtained by VICE News and documents what was seen by officers who responded to the scene after the shooting, has not previously been made public. It shows officers appearing to break multiple department policies and corroborates parts of Taylor’s boyfriend’s testimony. It also raises questions about the integrity not only of the crime scene but of the ensuing investigation into what happened that night.

The footage was captured by 45 different body cameras and included as part of the investigative file compiled by the LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit and shared with the Kentucky attorney general’s office. (No footage from the raid itself has been released, and for months, LMPD has insisted that none exists, saying that officers in this unit often operate in plainclothes and were not required to wear body cameras. VICE News has previously reported that crime scene photos contradict initial statements by the LMPD claiming that the officers involved, who work narcotics, do not wear body cameras. Photographs of officers taken from that night clearly show Tony James, one of the at least seven officers present for the raid, wearing a body camera over his right shoulder.)
 
GEORGETOWN, Texas (KWTX) – Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody, named in an indictment Friday charging tampering with evidence stemming from an investigation into the death of a former Killeen high school football player after a chase in March 2019, was booked into his own jail Monday.

The indictment alleges Chody destroyed or concealed video in the death of Javier Ambler, 40.

Chody, who turned himself in, was released after posting a $10,000 bond, online records showed.

Jason Nassour, the general counsel to the Williamson County Attorney’s Office, was also indicted for tampering with evidence Friday, according to online records.

ATLANTA -- A former Atlanta area police officer who acknowledged choking a Black man during a 2017 traffic stop will never work in law enforcement again after pleading guilty Monday to a charge of simple battery, prosecutors said.

As part of his sentence, David Rose surrendered his law enforcement certification, the district attorney's office in Henry County said in a news release announcing the plea deal. A judge also sentenced Rose to a year of probation and 40 hours of community service and required that he complete an anger management class.

Rose, who is white, was fired from the Henry County Police Department after an internal investigation found he used unnecessary force during the arrest of Desmond Marrow on Dec. 2, 2017. Video posted online shows Rose put his hand on Marrow’s throat for several seconds. Marrow says, “I can’t breathe,” while another officer tells him to settle down.

Rose also was recorded on his in-car video camera system saying that he had choked Marrow and that he wasn’t going to include that information in his report, Henry County Police Chief Mark Amerman said in 2018 when Rose’s firing was announced.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An unidentified grand juror in the Breonna Taylor case is asking the courts to release the grand jury transcript and recordings and for fellow jurors to be free to speak about the case, according to a new court filing.

"The full story and absolute truth of how this matter was handled from beginning to end is now an issue of great public interest and has become a large part of the discussion of public trust throughout the country," Kevin Glogower, the attorney for the juror, wrote in the court filing.

Filed just after 4 p.m. Monday and less just five days since the grand jury's indictment, the document does not name the grand juror, seeks to remain anonymous.

They ask for the proceedings to be disclosed so "the truth may prevail."

The motion accuses Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron of using the grand jurors "as a shield to deflect accountability and responsibility for those decisions" and says that has led to "more seeds of doubt in the process.

CNN and Louisville Courier both report cop who fatally shot Breonna Taylor is fund raising on Christian sites, seeking $75,000 so he can retire. He is traumatized and his reputation ruined.

Aren't there any hungry or sick or homeless people in Louisville needing charity?

they are saying that the AG(tbf he also said it) and the prosecutors didn’t even offer or give the idea of a homicide or murder charge. Or didn’t even bring up breonna Taylor’s name...i can’t remember but we will find out tomorrow morning
 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville judge who signed a search warrant for Breonna Taylor’s home and ultimately led to her death said Thursday she is concerned that the detective may have lied to obtain the warrant.

But Jefferson Circuit Judge Mary Shaw told The Courier Journal that she will defer to the FBI, which has been investigating the search warrant application for Taylor's apartment the led to the fatal raid.

The Courier Journal asked Shaw if she intended to demand that Detective Joshua Jaynes show why he shouldn’t be held in contempt for swearing in an affidavit that he “verified through a U.S. Postal Inspector that suspected drug dealer Jamarcus Glover has been receiving packages” at Taylor’s home.

Records obtained by The Courier Journal and first reported by WDRB show that Louisville police were told before the March 13 raid that no packages "suspicious or otherwise" had been delivered to Glover at Taylor's residence in the months before she was shot and killed by police executing a no-knock search warrant.

And they indicate that Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly, who was shot and wounded during the search, had a larger role in verifying information with the postal inspector's office than previously stated.

The Cops Voter Guide site says, “The COPS VOTER GUIDE is a non-partisan, public advocacy organization.” While I’m sure it’s likely that there are police who support its views, I don’t think it’s fair to imply that it represents a broad viewpoint.
