You're never going to understand....

You know what dude, you can justify your feelings towards white people however you want. I don't hate black people. Some of my heroes growing up were black. What I can't stand is people making excuses to justify their hate or justify their stereotypes. So if you need to tell me that I would never understand your life because I'm white, you go right ahead. If it makes you feel better, great. Just know that you aren't helping the problem. You're just going to pass those feelings on to your kids and perpetuate the problem.

Denny, you make it sound like every single white person benefited personally from slave labor 200 years ago.

Conversely, you make it sound like there are actually people alive today who were wronged personally by slavery.

Current wealth is an accumulation from the past. All American whites today would be poorer without the slave labor performed in the past. Without the food the slaves grew, whites would have built fewer bridges in the 1800s, so bridge technology would be less advanced now. That can be applied to the progress of all technologies since the slave centuries.

Conversely, wealth accumulation was negative for slaves. Every black American is now behind where they would be, had their ancestors led lives like whites did.

Yes, every single white person benefitted personally from slave labor 200 years ago.

And every white American still benefits.

And what if I don't use bridges? What if my relatives came to this country and also refused to use bridges?

Ha! There goes your bridge privilege.

It would be challenging to get around without using a single bridge.

So, now that you guys have blown a day and a half or so talking and getting your knickers in a bunch about something that's never going to be politically feasible to do, maybe it's time to give it a rest?

So quick to assume. And I'll be so glad once Sly lock s this thread. I said you'll never understand because of your responses to me. It has nothing to do with your skin tone. Your responses are far from empathetic. You literally don't seem to give a shit. This is why I feel you'll never understand. Now I'm done with this fucking thread.

Don't give a shit about what exactly? Racism? This has nothing to do with racism towards black people. This thread is about black people being racist towards white people. That is literally the point of the thread.

I think it's horrible what happened to you. I hate that there are people out there that treat others badly because of the color of their skin. I also think it's horrible that there are people out there who treat gay people badly. It's horrible that there are people who treat Muslims badly, simply because of what happened on 9/11. Racism is still prevalent in America. Sad but true. Bigotry in general is still prevalent. Hatred for gays, Mexicans, Muslims, Blacks, etc.

What I can't stand is when someone cries about racism, and then turns right around and makes generalizations about all white people. It's hypocritical, it's offensive, and it's extremely counter productive. When someone does that, they lose my sympathy. Period. Similarly, I can't stand Christians who supposedly follow a religion based on the teachings of Jesus, and yet they are some of the most judgmental, hateful, and unforgiving people in this country.I just don't like hypocrites. It's that simple.
