In order to get back some of the money spent on the McCain-Palin campaign, items from the campaign were sold today at a yard sale, including a $20 BlackBerry, fully loaded with confidential information.

When reporters from Fox 5 stopped by the McCain-Palin headquarters today, they were excited to find BlackBerry phones being sold for $20 each. Because the phones came with dead batteries and no chargers, it was only after the reporters had returned to their office and had charged the phones when they realized what $20 actually bought them.

Hundreds of e-mails from early September through early November, and more than 50 phone numbers—including private cell phone numbers belonging to politicians, campaign leaders and journalists—had been left on one of the BlackBerry phones. Whoops! Not to worry though—after the McCain-Palin campaign had been notified, they assured everyone that procedures were being carried out to fix the situation.

That's almost as hot as when Paris Hilton's phone was hacked and we saw those grainy pictures of her hoo-haa.

Just one more of the many reasons why McCain/Palin = the idiot ticket.

Complete and utter incompetence.

Unbelievable. Imagine if these bozos would had won the election. They would have had access to nuclear codes and all kinds of other crap that would cause problems for the country if "accidentaly" sold for $20. :biglaugh:

Yeah, because Nuclear Codes are stored on Blackberrys.

No, I got it,but was being short and flip and it may not come through. Your point is somewhat salient, but the fact is that the mid-level functionary whose job that was to sell the Blackberrys (Blackberries?) wouldn't have access to much of importance. Even Bush and Obama don't have "nuclear codes".

People with access to important things like secrets and codes generally don't let politicians and their flunkies mess with them unless absolutely necessary.

If you want to have a discussion that Obama's flunkies and functionaries are better trained, equipped, smarter, etc., I'm not going to argue with you. I'm also not saying that McCain/Palin would be better or worse at keeping secrets. I'm just saying that correlating low-level campaign workers' stupidity/laziness with the two at the top (on either side) seems a little wrong to me. That's all.

I'm sure it was McCain and Palin sitting in a couple of fold-out lawn chairs in their driveway selling their blackberry's.
