Blake likely out for Bobcats game

I was watching him at the game when he came around the corner and hit that pick. Again, it looked like nobody called it out for him. Nailed him right in the same shoulder. I heard him scream from center court. I really don't understand why he even played. :sigh:

Exactly. No reason he should have played. Either Jay Jensen and the doctors gave him the premature go-ahead or Nate went against their recommendations.

I just don't see any reason why we should have risked him against the Clippers.

Now his first game back is likely to be against the hardest-setting screen team in the league ... the Jazz.

We should have been playing just because he was so obviously not ready to shoot. With Batum and him in the starting lineup, that's not much pressure on the opposing defense.

From Nate:

"What I told him is I'm basically giving him another week,'' McMillan said on Tuesday. "Even though we are listing him as day-to-day, from what I see, I think he needs another week. Maybe not seven days, but he won't play (Wednesday) and he will be doubtful for Utah.''

Utah is a big game. I hope he's ready by then.

It's a tough call. From what I heard on the radio today, Blake felt he was ready and didn't feel much in practice. It's just getting into the game situations, and not knowing how he'd react to getting hit in the shoulder again.
Obviously it was the wrong call, but he'll be getting hit in the shoulder again his next game whether it be this week or a month from now.

I like that Blake played. He can be looked at as a vet on the team and he is setting the example of what it takes to be an NBA player. Joel out there playing with a bum wrist, Blake out there with a sore shoulder trying to gut through it. Pay attention young ones, you can celebrate wins after the game, but come game time it is a war out there and you leave everything on the court.

That or Blake was hearing footsteps approaching his starting position. :dunno:
