Re: I'm going with 57 wins!

Vegas says 48.5. I'm sticking to 53.

What did Vegas said last year? SI had us finishing 11th in the West. Neither Kenny, Ernie, Charles, or Shaq had us making the playoffs.

We usually start this thread after the preseason is over. Get a feel for how this team looks.

Well it has been said several times that practice feels like it's mid season. So the win total thread should be earlier too.

Call me an optimist, but I think they'll win 50 ... fewer wins than last year, but maybe actually a so-so to decent defensive team.

Heck! He didn't even negotiate. Is there an offer on the table or do I get to pick my price?
Oh yeah and exactly how long are you a "Rookie" around here?

After your 500th post you get to bang... Oops, we're not suppose to talk about HCP's wife anymore.

Going to take me quite a while to get to 500. Right now I'm spending a lot of time at work. A couple of comments a day at best.

49. Playoffs, and a first round exit.

Sigh.

I think lack of D will bite us in the ass.

This is a redux of last season for you. I want to say, last season you picked us not even making the playoffs, then we made it to the second round. If this holds true, are we going to make it to the WCFs?

Re: I'm going with 57 wins!

He made some really good points about our team, especially having sooo many young reserves and still getting the 5th spot.

I think the most important thing that happened to us last season was getting out of the first round. That added more confidence to this team.
Winning the first round added confidence. Getting killed in the second round added IQ and the burning desire to, and an understanding how to, get better. Both were extremely important and valuable.

Okay I mistaken your playoff miss, but the wins and outcome is about the same.

Mine was almost nice! Haha

Team:
Wins: 55
Seed in the west: 3rd
Playoff result: WCF (Lose to OKC in 7 games)

Key players:
Dame: 22.5 points, 5 dimes, 2 steals on 45% FG, 38% 3 pt
LMA: 21 points, 10 boards, 2.5 blocks a game on 50.3% FG
Nic: 15 points, 7 boards, 4 dimes a game on 46% FG, 40% 3pt

Surprise player: Robin Lopez
Disappointment: Leonard

Most likely mid-season trade: 3-team (CLE, Philly and Blazers) Matthews goes to Philly, Hawes to Cleveland and Varejao to Portland

I agree. I know a lot wanted Dallas in the second round, but I wanted Spurs. We needed to get our asses handed to us so we know what to improve.

Does the Durant injury change you prediction? How about the divisional race?

Re: I'm going with 57 wins!

I think we are going to have a bit of a down year this time.

0-82.

barfo

I meant 1-81.

I don't see how it changes the win/loss for Blazers, but it could definitely change the division race

Okay I stand corrected. We had a better opportunity to beat OKC tonight and did. It gave us a 1 game advatange on them and maybe got an extra win

62. 1st or 2nd seed.

Leading league in offensive efficiency and 3pt shooting. After all, not much has changed from my opinion last year that we could be a really good version of the 2009 Magic...where we have great shooters, everyone can facilitate, a big man (men?) in the middle for cleanup duty and paint offense when needed. If anything we're massively better at 6-9th man.
