Carmelo Anthony announces launch of global content company Creative 7 (yahoo.com)<<<< He does this too.

Carmello still 11th on the all time scoring list (13th if you add in the ABA stats). Going into tonight's game he needs 197 points to pass Elvin Hayes for 10th.

Coming up on Dame's radar from a points perspective (within 100 points) - Dame is currently 107th on the NBA list.
  • James Worthy - needs 9 points to pass
  • Joe Dumars - needs 90 points to pass
  • Jerry Stackhouse - needs 98 points to pass
From a 3 pointer perspective coming Dame is currently 13th - coming up soon (within 30 3 pointers):
  • Joe Johnson - needs 3 to pass
  • Dirk Nowitzki - needs 7 to pass
  • Jason Kidd - needs 13 to pass
The 3 pointer gap after Jason Kidd is pretty big - Jason is at 1,988 and next above him is Paul Pierce at 2,143. Doubt Dame will catch Pierce this year but should be within striking distance.

Just one slight math clarification.

Dame 2,003 3's
Pierce 2,143 3's

Dame needs 143 to pass Pierce, not 43. Not going to happen this season unless Dame goes on a 3-spreee the likes of which the league has never seen nor even conceived.

Going into tonight's game with the Rockets:

Carmelo is 10th on the all-time NBA only list with 27,337 points. Trails Moses Malone @ 27,409 at 9th. (73 points needed to take over 9th)

Dame is 103rd on the all-time NBA only list with 16,688 points.

102. Latrell Sprewell - 16,712 - Dame needs 25 points to pass
101. Buck Williams - 16,784 - Dame needs 97 to pass
100. Elton Brand - 16,827 - Dame needs 140 to pass
99. Rudy Gay - 16,854 - Since Gay is still active, this is a moving target

For what its worth, CJ is about 2500 points away from hitting the top 250 all-time NBA only scoring list.

So, Dame will reach #100 and Carmelo will reach #9 in Game 1 next year after the Championship banner is raised to the rafters?

I can see it now, S2'ers will be more angry with Melo still on the team than they are happy with a Championship. And we'll have threads questioning whether it's the worst ring ceremony ever, and will Stotts lose his job before the banner reaches the top.

It's weird to think that at the time of his retirement, Dan Issel was the 4th all time leading scorer when combining ABA and NBA points.
