#Olshey agent Warren Legarie will be a major player in who Blazers hire as head coach. Listen to my show today and I'll tell you candidates.

LOL. This could get awesome. I know Kaleb is a client of his

Who we pick for a coach will reflect the direction of the team. If we go with someone like Sloan, I suspect it will mean that they want to win now and will be trading the picks to acquire talent that will accomplish that goal. If we hire someone younger like Malone or (sigh) Canales, then I suspect it will mean we're rebuilding around youth and will be keeping the picks.

Ya, I think this is a really good point. Kaleb would say to me that they will build and be patient. Sloan would say to me they expect to win now. Someone like Malone or Shaw would say they are ready to take the next step and this is the coach to guide them

As I said in some other thread, I would like to see us try to get permission to speak to Sam Mitchell.

I really don't care which direction they go. If they can get the right deal for the picks, do it. I wouldn't be opposed to Rondo, but I don't think that will happen. I also wouldn't be opposed to a young shooting guard to replace Roy, and then sign Dragic in the offseason.

With that said, I'm also completely okay with keeping the picks and rebuilding slow.

The only thing that will piss me off is overpaying for above average talent that has already peeked. Iggy and Joe Johnson are a good example of this

I agree 100%. Who else is out there though? Harden? Would the Thunder even listen to offers? I would call them as soon as the playoffs are over.

It will be Malone. And we will not go into full rebuild. Above average talent, here we come. Please excuse me though while I continue my D-Will fantasy, just a little longer.

I think it's less of a fantasy than it was before.

Berger just had an interview with Sam Amick. Floated his "Legarrie client" theory, and Amick basically shot him down, saying that coach/executive agents overstate their importance in the process.

Also said Portland is a much more desirable coaching job than Charlotte or Orlando, and suggested Brian Shaw as a likely candidate.

This is about the 3rd thread on this board today that discusses Canales as a possibility.

Ridiculous. I personally guarantee it won't be him. That's my personal signature you see, not Lieweke's.

IF he does get hired....... will you promise to quit posting here?

Now listing Legarrie clients: Canales, D'antoni, Carlisle, Karl, Dunleavy, Iavaroni, Mike Brown, Vandeweghe, Brooks

Suggests D'antoni as a likely and sensible candidate. Complete speculation though, no "sources" or "inside info".

Man, I have been personally ridiculed for 5+ years for deal coming soon, and I didn't guarantee that one.

You were just unlucky because the trade was Randolph for Channing Frye... if we had dealt Randolph for someone good, nobody would have cared

Part of my outrage last night was because of rollercoaster rides like this one with Paul Allen.

Penn gets fired because of alleged scheming.

KP gets left twisting in the wind.

LeGarie speaks out in the press.

Now, just two years later, the interim head coach is a LeGarie client, the new GM is a LeGarie client, and suddenly it appears that Warren LeGarie is everywhere again.

I can't imagine working in that type of environment. If you look at Paul Allen cross-eyed on accident, you just don't know how he'll react. As a fan, it's frustrating to me.

Whether Olshey is good or bad, I hope Kolde's Klods will at least sit back and let him run the basketball side with as little interference as possible.

Did I tell you about this one time at Sharky's with Brian Shaw...
