I could've sworn I had a more robust list after someone called me out on my exceptions and cherry-picking, but here's a start:

Since 96-97, guys who were in top 3 in rebounding in NCAA (tried to limit super-small schoolers)
97:Tim Duncan, Adonal Foyle
98:Ryan Perriman (?), Raef LaFrentz
99:Todd MacCullough, Jeff Foster
00: Darren Phillip, Josh Shankes (?)
01:Reggie Evans, David West
02:Curtis Borchardt, Drew Gooden
03:Chris Kaman, David West
04:Paul Millsap, Emeka Okafor
05:Paul Millsap, Andrew Bogut
06:Paul Millsap, Kenny Adeleke (?)
07: Durant, Fazekas
08:Beasley, Jason Thompson, Brockman
09:Griffin, Bryant(?), Blair

BTW, if you're into reading the conclusion people draw that don't turn out right a couple of years later, the linked thread is a good one. Pendergraph didn't end up being a Frye clone (my bad), but I don't know that I'm a "chubby chaser" b/c I wanted Blair over Dante or Pendy.

Really? Due to his size and playing for Morehead State I think he'll be there for us. I mean, look at Babbitt. A perfect example of a player playing against inferior teams and being picked too high. So I wonder if that will carry over to this draft and cause Faried to be there at 21.'

Then you have guys like Paul Millsap who measured out at 6'6" (But much heavier ) who led the NCAA in rebounding (I think for two years) while playing in the same league as Babitt. He went way too low

for reference, Faried's measurements at the predraft had him the exact same height as Martell Webster (6'6 barefoot) with a 1" bigger wingspan and weighing 5 pounds less. He'll need a Dennis Rodman/Gerald Wallace type motor to get it done inside at that size. I didn't watch him in college, but the draft sites seem united in saying that he's got no jumper to stretch his offensive game outside of the paint.

STOMP

Faried plays a lot bigger than his height.

9'0" standing reach -- 11'7" no-step vertical reach -- 11'11" max vertical reach

He has Marty beat by 7" in max reach. His weird build/reach allow him to play like a 6'10" player.

Faried got great rebounding numbers in OOC games against Ohio St. and Florida. I think he's a damn good rebounder regardless of what conference he played in.

Rebounding is a stat that translates pretty well into the NBA. I'm not sure that rebounding alone makes a player valuable enough to keep in the long run, but I think I'll take my chances with a big-time rebounder like Faried where we're sitting in the draft.

Exactly. Its rare you find guys at 21, especially in a weak draft that doesnt have some major flaws in his game.
