Neil is by far the best GM we've ever had imo
Well, he does give good press conference.
Weren't you trashing him for not seeing the signs on Lamarcus?
To Nate and Fez:
"You don't break up a 54 win team"
Two. Years. Ago.
In retrospect perhaps that last second shot by Damian against Houston wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Not lamenting the win and the moment (because it was thrilling and awesome) but it's funny when you look back and can identify a singular moment where everything tilts one way or another. Perhaps there's a parallel universe where he clanks that shot, LaMarcus demands a trade and we send him to Cleveland for Wiggins? To Nate and Fez:
"You don't break up a 54 win team"
Why no sign and trade? The teams weren't interested. They didn't need our participation. Why would they give up assets if they have cap room?
Try this: http://www.iheart.com/live/Fox-Sports-Radio-620AM-1965/2 questions:
Will this press conference be posted after the fact to view? I couldn't get the stream to play at work.
I've heard about having to meet the minimum team salary of $63m, is there a specific date that needs to be met?
Maybe someday you'll find Neil in a bar and can demand your satisfaction.
See my post above. Getting out of the second round that year probably cemented this team's fate. It would have been awfully hard to sell a rebuild coming off of that huge moment.I said that I think the signs were there, and I would have traded him two years ago. I don't think it's realistic that we would have traded him last summer. With that said, I've never said that he's a bad GM. In fact, I'm not entirely sure it was his call to keep LA, but I don't buy that LA wasn't deceptive. I guess that's just my gut feeling. That doesn't take away from how much I agree with all his other moves. I don't disagree with a single move he has made. It's the one move he DIDN'T make that I am disappointed in.
was this in context to LMA or a 50-win team?"Teams that hold on too long to something that isn't good enough are doomed to mediocrity and failure." --Paul Allen
I never said it was realistic to trade him after last season. I made my comments about trading him two years ago when the rumors came out.
