Seriously? How is this fair? Someone calls me out AGAIN, I comment, and it's me whining? It's such bullshit. You guys are ridiculous.

Jesus does every thread have to be about you and your persecution paranoia?!

:ghoti:

Sorry, it's not fair. Mea culpa.

interesting that he's going with the black vest, grey slacks, black socks and brown (oxblood?) shoes. Generally a no-no. But I guess if you are now worth about a quarter-billion, you can wear whatever you want.

We had 2 lists going into free agency. One with LaMarcus and one without. If LA was ready to commit, they would go in one order. If not, they would go in another. Some players fit both models. If they exhausted either list, they wouldn't start chasing guys just to fill out the cap space. Is the player we are acquiring commensurate to the cap space we are giving up?

Would we be impeding young player development by bringing in other players? Do we want to bring in someone who say takes away minutes from Allan Crabbe where he doesn't get the opportunity to play like CJ and Meyers did last year.

Looks like the vest is a lighter black (gray) on front. But ya, totally agree with you.

I want to see what his belt looks like though

"I think there is more talent here today than what we inherited 3 years ago."

In regards to tanking, "Have you met Damian Lillard?"

Let us worry about the money. You guys worry about the players and the team and how well or how poorly we play and how guys are developing. We'll worry about how we manage our cap and how guys get paid. Guys value is based on what they bring to the team

We were on the clock a bit when we first got here because of trying to put pieces around LaMarcus but basically we inherited LA, Nic and Wes in terms of talent. The guys we have now are better than you think, they are just younger.

LA could have asked for a trade so the acquiring team could offer him a 5 year max deal under Bird rights....he nor his agent didn't do that.

With that fourth year option I get the feeling LA goes team shopping again after Timmy retires after his third year. Smart.

Dame doesn't like distractions in his city during the season; it's why he likes it here. Not every player wants that, but it's what we can provide.

Both Ed and Farouq had bigger markets they could have gone to with cap room. You have to find a guy with the right sensibility. What is so impressive about Dame is he doesn't want to be somewhere that there are distractions away from basketball. If it's market over basketball, we have to redirect our energies to elsewhere. There are challenges here which is why player retention is so important. Obviously we weren't able to keep LA but we signed these new players to longer clients.

"Emerging Roster"

That's pretty good. I was going with 'retool'.

It is an emerging roster. It is younger guys that have their best days ahead of them. We are waiting for these player to emerge the way previous players did. Injuries derailed players like Oden and Roy. Kevin was absolutely on the right track and injuries derailed that.

This is actually pretty boss of Neil, tbh. If that were me, I'd have gone out trashing Aldridge for derailing the franchise. And he's been pretty upbeat about the situation

We have really good young players. They have just never had the responsibility attached to winning as there were guys like Kobe and Dirk to fall back on. They will have that responsibility and opportunity now.
