The other podcast by 3 young guys. I remembered the name although they might need a name change...it's called "From the logo"

twitter causes brain pollution...I want no part of that place.

Hermano, your brain has been a mess MUCH longer than twitter has been around, nice try.
but unlike you twitter crack heads, I still have my OWN messed up brain instead of the messed up brains of a million jaded whack jobs

I’ve said it on here before, I don’t follow whack jobs on twitter. I follow my favorite teams, writers etc. The only place I read crazy shit off of social media is here at S2. It can be a powerful tool if used correctly.
That reminds me of a joke about a powerful tool.

One thing I stick by now is to never make fun of someone's physical appearance.

This is taking that to a whole 'nother level.
I don't think Dan can justify making fun of anyone's appearance...he's a target for body shamers as it is but I agree that's not how a public mouthpiece should conduct himself. Being that high strung in general can lead to all sorts of health problems down the road.

That's not what I thought Chris Burkhardt looked like.... at all.

This is what I’m talking about. Guy used to set up lights for sideline hits for Jamie Hudson and now he is an “insider” with a show that people are supposed to take his opinions seriously?

You have been around the team for a long time... you have to know that this is how the business works.

They're all just dudes with opinions. Some get famous for no reason other than just being at the right place at the right time. Travis was just a dude who sat in front of me 20 years ago and now he's the voice of the Blazers. That's how the industry works. You pay your dues. I left because there was no money in it. And most of them are burned out and hate their jobs if they stick it out. I didn't want to end up that way.

Is there anyone that you actually think is worth listening to? Who is actually an insider to you?

I don’t listen to podcasts that are all about stats. Just doesn’t do it for me. I don’t need to know what a player’s ERTDFH% is. There is SO much more to the game than +/- So numbers base podcasts don’t do it for me. I listen to more of guys just sitting around talking about the game like they are in a barber shop.
I do enjoy The Ringer NBA shows like The Mismatch/Russillo/The NBA Show/Simmons

They don’t take it too serious, I guess just like me. I listen to them more for entertainment.

So as you can tell, I don’t listen to them for inside stuff. Just like this place. I don’t come here to read what Steve from Canby thinks about Dame’s defensive efficiency or Nurk’s rim protection projection numbers are…..
Props to those who get off on that stuff. I’m a guest on multiple podcasts and we don’t ever talk numbers, just the culture of the team and league.

I just wait for Woj to ping my phone.

I believe I’m this way because I know where these local “insiders” think they hear shit. I have personally got in the ear of BRoy and LA and Nic and Wes and Dame and CJ when these local guys walk by and try to be cool with them….I’ve told them to stay away from them. Told them they’d get burnt. I’m sure for a fact that others had told them the same.

I’ve shared the story on here before, when Jason Quick was out to dinner with us years ago in New Orleans. One of our PR guys walked by the part of the plane where I sit, and it was right next to Greg Oden. Greg would sit in Mr. Allen’s bedroom with his leg up on the desk to keep the swelling down. Me and Greg were fucking around joking and cracking up and everybody was just wanting to know why.
I was telling him the story, and Jason Quick overheard it. The next thing you know, the next morning he’s on the radio, breaking the news, that his close inside sources told him how Greg Oden doesn’t want to sit with his teammates, that he sits by himself in Mr. Allen’s fancy office bedroom on the plane. And it spread like crazy. The PR guys apologized to me because Greg got pissed. Quick never did apologize and we give each other dirty looks to this day.
So some on here will have to excuse me when I don’t believe people who ACTUALLY claim to have sources. Everybody has the right to share their opinion obviously, but it’s when it gets to this, “I know what is and isn’t going on and you don’t” vibe that gets me.

This season I'll be launching a few separate podcasts including new and different voices under the Blazers Uprise umbrella. Hoping to provide a different feel for each, with the same high-level production I try to put on all my content. I also want to do a weekly round table panel with various people, including those from some smaller podcasts as a showcase for different voices. We may have the financial backing to pay some writers for blazersuprise.com too. I'm trying to build a wide-ranging platform that can appeal to everyone.

Now you're cookin'! I think most of my favorite sports podcasters network and have each other as guests.

My favorite sportscasters all say that they know nothing about the inner workings of the Blazers staff and FO. My least favorite claim to be "plugged in" which I translate as plugged into a laptop. Cool Oden story, I had never heard that before.

Man I just felt bad fro Greg….Quick put that out there just to stir shit up. Haven’t talked to him since. These local writers have NO inside connections. People blast on Haynes, but at least he does have relationships with the players and is told stuff.

I like Marc Spears for the same reason..he's from Oakland and doesn't seem to bullshit much. I enjoy when Haynes and Spears talk hoops together.

Spears is good. I’ve seen him multiple times in our road hotel lobby sitting and talking players. Haynes as well. That means a lot to me.
