Collins will do a lot of little things that will make this team better. Hitting an outside shot, getting an assist or the 'hockey' assist. Smart player with good footwork.

You guys are nuts! Meyers is going to beast this kid and dunk on him first scrimmage.
raw
Zach's gonna punch Meyers in his VERY punchable face! :smiley-violence:

Olshey said they were on this guy back in January but the more he played and the more others saw him, the more they knew they couldn't get him at #15 and would have to move up.

Long-term, I like Collins better than Jackson and think he will have more longevity than Giles. I like Giles but not sure of his position because he is a big with handles but can't shoot or post up. Then there are the injuries.

Could someone please fucking sell me on Zach Collins? I cant seem to get excited

Once you calm down, here's what you'll figure out:
The Blazers were looking for bigs who could do 2 of the following 3 things:
Defend
Rebound
Make 3s

Swanigan can do 2 of these, but he also is a stud offensively. (Defense is sketchy)

Zach Collins can do all 3 - yes, he's actually a unicorn. He shot better than any blazer from the 3 last year: 46.7%. That's why trading up for him made sense.

Check out the draft, no other bigs can do all of these things. Basically, he's what OKC wanted Sabonis to be, but absolutely isn't.

For whatever reason, some want to compare him to Biebs, but they are not similar at all. Biebs is a super-athlete, Collins is a skill player. Biebs can only make 3s (and had trouble with that last year). If he gets his head together, he'll be able to rebound, again. But, he'll never be able to do all three.

feel better?

Nope.

Zach Collins:
10-21 = .467 3FG%

Pat Connaughton:
17-33 = .515 3FG%

Patty Baseball shot a higher 3FG% on a larger sample size against superior competition.

"larger" lol, it's 12.

It's like saying Meyers is a great player because he shot 77% from 3 in a playoff series....

Yeah, that was my point.

That the 3FG sample size for Collins was ridiculously small. Yeah, he shot .467 3FG%, but he only made ten 3-pointers all season.

If you're LOLing at Connaughton's small sample size, you must really be busting a gut over Collins' even smaller sample size.

lol and LOL are different.

Learn internet jargon, then laugh appropriately.

I think I was the closest on win predictions this season.

I'm pretty sure my net prediction win total in the past two years is far closer than yours.
