+ Bones.....Phoenix is not worth a mention?
ehhh I didn't really think of them. I don't think the future is that bright for them. They got Warren and Booker as future pieces but they still won't be contender to make the playoffs in my opinion.

The Blazers this year may be young and inexperienced, but damn they have the ability to be..... PLUCKY. I can already hear Mike Barrett extolling the virtues of our Plucky Blazers. As Jon Lovitz would said, INDEED!

Captain Scrappy and his side-kick Plucky!

Why is Milwaukee better than the Blazers?

Looking like the worst team on paper going into the season is actually a secret weapon..and yes, some of the contenders are getting really, really old...stay healthy and make old guys chase you around on defense..turn their legs to rubber and take it to the rack! I hope the Blazers are like that miracle hockey team that beat the USSR in the Olympics!

Lamarcus is easy to solve...just target his thumbs
Knock him to the floor on his first two post-ups and he'll shoot long jumpers the rest of the game. Easiest player to defend as long as you're willing to give up two early fouls.

just a fun look at in and out per game all added up this is what we came up with:

Out: 84.7 ppg/38.8rpg/20.9apg/214.7mpg (some of this is obviously skewed because I'm adding everyone's per game stats even Gee and Wright)

In: 47.1ppg/31.2rpg/9.5apg/142.9mpg

If guys like Leonard, CJ and Dame take it to the next level and add in more minutes for Vonleh, Aminu and Hendo. I wonder how close we end up to actually breaking even possibly.

Can't really compare those because the mpg are different, but if you normalize the In to 215 mpg, then you get:

Out: 85ppg; 39rpg; 21apg
In: 71ppg; 58rpg; 15apg

That does seem to tell some of the story of what we can expect.

Of course the real problem is that almost all of the In guys were not scoring options at all and the out guys were heavily relied upon. I bet if you adjusted the scoring by equaling shots per game the In guys would be much higher.

holy rebounding...

I wonder how far being the best rebounding team in the league can get us. Being able to clear the glass and have a couple guys leak out could work well. On the offensive end I think we'll just punish teams by crashing and if we don't get the rebound, hopefully we make it hard to corral and hit the outlet man so we don't get run on.

If Dame can handle the increased attention and the rest of the team has the IQ to move to the correct locations and set and use the right picks, they could be very good. I just worry with all the youth and unproven IQs that it could end up being a bunch of athletes that rebound and dunk, but can't get anything done in the half court.

yeah, I think with CJ and one of Vonleh/Leonard in, we'll be fine in the halfcourt. When we have Henderson, Aminu, and Plumlee or Davis in is where I really see the problem.

I disagree with the word choice of some phrases, but there's no denying our offseason has been all about making lemonade. However, as a fan who's dealt with a couple of long slow slides into mediocrity and worse, it's nice to rip off the bandaid all at once for a change. It feels more honest.

Yeah Paul's Hard Lemonade
