@ESPNSteinLine: Another team to watch in the Greg Monroe restricted free-agent hunt: I'm told Portland has serious interest in a sign-and-trade for Monroe >>>>

There ya go! Big splash! Gotta keep Rolo on the bench.

CJ/Meyers/TRob for Monroe?

Age wise, you can build around Lillard and Monroe.

I'd also throw this out there: is he insurance for when/if LMA bolts the same way we targeted Wes Matthews for Roy?

Robin is the 6th best center according to ESPN's WARP. Monroe would be our super sub backup.

Here's what a Detroit fan wants

McCollum, one of Lopez/Leonard and first rounders?

I love the fact that Olshey swings big.

I'd give up anyone on our bench but losing trob would hurt like a bitch

Detroit has cap space so he wouldn't be a BYC player in a S&T. We could send McCollum, Wright, Freeland and a pick.

Would we give him a max contract? With 15 teams having major cap room I think he gets it this offseason. Would love to add him to our core if we can keep our starters. Not sure how we'd afford contracts for all our starters along with Monroe when Lillard's max deal kicks in.

I was under the impression that Detroit wasn't going to match any offers for him.

Either way, this smacks of insurance in case LMA decides to bolt. Or possibly a replacement if Neil decides to deal Aldridge in the near future.

i'm sure he can start somewhere, why would he come here to be a backup

I think we move TRob, CJ and Meyers in a sign and trade. If we want to keep CJ throw in a future first round pick instead. TRob won't be happy as the 4th big when those guys are getting virtually every minute of the front court. Freeland would be good as a 4th big man who accepts not playing but has good help defense if need be. Meyers is a dissapointment. Losing TRob is sad but there just wouldn't be any chance of a role with that trio in front of him.

Monroe's been one of my targets ever since Drummond came on strong... if there's a way to get him, you get him, imho.

I think Monroe starts at center and I think Robinson/Rolo become our super subs. I don't think the trade includes Robinson.

That was my hope for FA in your other thread.fuck yeah

Paul Allen gotta have more cow bell!

And championships!

The golden checkbook is officially open.

Neil is obviously trading LMA for Lebron, so we need a PF.

How many contenders does he start for? Got to show him the max contract and playing for a 54 win team. Don't think he's ever been to the playoffs? We might sell him on the idea of playing big minutes with LaMarcus. I think Rolo would be best at 25-30minutes a night; LMA is getting older and could be more fresh with 32mpg so in theory that leaves 34-39 minutes for Monroe.

Not for me

Wouldn't hurt of you wouldn't give any up?

TRob's trade value has never been higher, but he is just JJ Hickson without the ego. We just proved those guys are $2 mil players.

Sounds great. But someone tell me why Detroit would do this? I would think they would need Rolo.
