Alright, so from now on, close the half with six players.

What a great win!

It will be interesting to see what Mixedup can find wrong with this one. :)

This is the kind of game the Blazers will be able to help sustain their confidence through the rest of the season. They'll still go through rough patches but they'll bounce back better and faster when they remember this. It could be the thing that puts them over the top for getting into the play offs. They KNOW they can play now.

What an incredible win on so many levels. I had this game down as an almost-guaranteed loss. Oh man, oh man I bet that guy in the front row misses his beer.

Fuck U KG and all of the Celtics. I would hate myself if i supported the Celtic's. Dirty players and get the empathy from the refs, not a good combination. I think the Celtic's have surpass the Lakers as my least favorite team.

I don't know what I was thinking. I predicted the Blazers to lose to the Celtics and it was I think the first time I picked the Blazers to lose.

So is this the old Greg Oden we've been missing all year?

I feel bad for bashing him the other day - I can admit I was wrong. I still don't know if he'll ever be a dominant once in a decade big man, in fact I sort of doubt it. But that's okay. If he plays with heart and enthusiasm, and toughness . . . I'm good with that. He banged with the C's big men and showed some leadership tonight. I couldn't have imagined that a week ago - simply no way. I think it gave our other guys confidence to see Pryz and Oden pumped up and gobbling all of the boards (44-29!!!) How do you beat up a bully? Smack him in the mouth. This is my favorite win all year. Better than Houston, or Phoenix, or any other game we pulled out b/c of B-Roy. I kept saying to myself - what happens when he isn't knocking down these circus shots every night? Where's our toughness? How come we can't grind out any games when our offense sputters? Well, maybe Mr. Greg Oden has his legs underneath him. Totally changes the complection of this team if he plays with that kind of toughness.

Some kind of rule of technicality regarding the 6 player on the floor plus 1 call for us will probably completely nullify the game? :biglaugh:

That was pretty smart of Nate to have Brandon pretend to be injured.

We did some things tonight that we've never done before, ever. All thanks to Brandon being injured. Particularly running the offense directly through the big man, Bayless showing that he's got game, and the Twin Towers lineup (that was sweet). This was a major win and it showed new dimensions to the team that we can hopefully grow on after tonight. I'm not so sure these dimensions would be realized had we lost. Awesome, awesome win.

That Oden guy, I guess he's not that bad.

GREAT GREAT GREAT WIN!

although I'm sure MIXUM will find something wrong with it.

Freaky stats of the night, both Greg and Rudy 3 of 5 from the foul line, Blake and Greg tied for team high assists at 3.

Garnett elbowed outlaw after the dunk THEN elbows LMA. COME ON!!!!

Yes he did. I was beginning to think I was the only one who saw it. Score on Garnett and he cheap shots you. Just ask the guy who's jaw he broke for scoring on him in a pick up game. Garnett is the biggest punk in the NBA. I guarantee if Greg clocks him one time, or even LaMarcus, he'll back down. Punk.

I've said many times Roy has the ball too much of the time, limiting what his teammates can do.

Great game from the big fella (Oden) tonight. It was nice to see him not only assert himself, but also show some emotion. I loved it when he clapped his hands after his bucket in the fourth quarter - showed he was into the game.

That's true, he wasn't involved in the offense much at all tonight and he was almost invisible on defense.

Well, there's that theory, or he could go with a claim that this one is obviously fools gold since the Celtics let down because Roy wasn't playing.

He's very inventive.

I'm so proud of these guys for winning a close game without their leader and against a veteran team that should always win in those situations because of their basketball IQ and experience. It was a collectively focused mature Blazer team that didn't crack under the pressure at crunch time.

I loved the physical toughness they showed but the mental toughness impressed me even more.

Greg actually had four assists and Blake had two. The Outlaw dunk near the end of the game where Oden passed it to him - they gave the assist to Steve instead of Oden for some reason.

The Celtics going 1-3 on this road trip has to raise some concerns among Celtics fans. They weren't exactly road warriors in last year's playoffs.

Someone, probably Maurice (?) Lucas, has been working with Greg and it really shows. I think that running the offense through him was the best part of the game. That and the win. When Martel gets back, watch out NBA!

Nitpick all you like....I ain't giving this one back! :devilwink:

Nice to see Oden is finally figuring it out - he isn't good enough to dominate, but when he plays with passion he can still help the team win.

KG is a piece of shit. You see him after Greg got that "technical" for that foul he put on Allen? He was pretending to be held back by his teammates... Like he'd last one second against Greg Oden. And the foul didn't even deserve a T. The foul by Boston on Travis was far worse and far more dangerous. God I hate the refs.
