I'm chillin' indeed.
Good win over a very weak team.
Smokin' a Tabak Especial and drinking hot cocoa out on my deck under a star-filled sky here in Beautiful Central Oregon.
I love Bayless, just not as a PG (he's horrible at PG, just as Oden would be).
I like his scoring mentality, and with a PG like Sergio to set him up he could be very effective for us. They make a good duo, and both are good at full-court press which Blake and Roy are a bit slow for.
But at PG he is our weakest defender by far, and the team flounders and stands around and watches him play his one-man offensive attack.
In a year or 2 he will be a regular player, but right now he's got so much to learn. He has yet to go under, over, around, or through a pick yet. Not once has he done it. It's like a 20ft-long wall to him. And so, other PG's have their way with him more so than I ever remember happening in Blazers history.
I'd love to see Nate declare him a SG and play him that way exclusively so he can get some time on the court to learn the basics. I think he might be better at defending SG's also because most of them are jump-shooters and not drivers. He gets killed on the pick and roll plays.
Sergio:
Ranks #5 in the NBA in Assists Per 48 Minutes(11.2) (Blake ranks 33rd)
Ranks #10 in the NBA in Steals Per 48 Minutes(2.56)
That's starting PG material at both ends of the court.
