One more possitive on Nate: I like the switch to zone late in the game. Better late than never."

Funny that Hubie was talking about our use of the 2-3 zone.............in the first qtr.

We have the best record in the league.

I like it..

He looked OK on offense, but the Blazers clobbered him on the offensive boards.

true. he was active on the offensive boards. reminded me of a lite lebron with that one pass he had on a fastbreak

I recall Brown talking about the zone as well in the first quarter.

Mediocre Man: Hater gonna hate!

Plus he will have to learn to pace himself or get in better shape. He could hardly breathe at the end of the 3rd. But he does work his ass off.

So I'm rewatching the ESPN version (after hearing the Mikes earlier)...kind of getting sick of Hubie, which is odd, since I generally respect his knowledge. Then I just saw Tokito's tweet:

Oden to ESPN re. Griffin: "I told him not to posterize anybody on my team, but he's definitely not listening to me."

I've counted 5 easy baskets at the rim for them and 2 for us.

Fun game tonight. Nice to see Aldridge go from goat to hero. For three quarters, his offense was horrible. Just awful. But he kept rebounding, played good D, and then man, that 3 shut the crowd up for the rest of the night. Another dominant 4th quarter for our Blazers. I love it. Nice to hang out with El Presidente too. I may go to Knicks game on Saturday. Depends om work stuff.

GO BLAZERS!

Maybe the Blazers are going to start playing like the Ducks.... second half team!

Wow, it's like Hubie is Griffin's godfather or something.

I know, right? I watched part of the ESPN broadcast and they were not even trying to hide the fact that they were rooting for the Clippers

I really can't hate on the announcers for rooting for the Clips. That team hasn't really had anything to cheer about forever. Every time they build a good team, it's blown up. Hopefully they keep this core together, because they have some really talented young guys. Baron needs to move on. That guy just doesn't look anything like the guy that was so much fun to watch.

Ya, they used it a few times and for it to be effective they can't use it all the time. That would just allow the other team to get use to it and figure ways to beat it. It's nice to throw at them at certain times.

The reason the game was televised was because it was the debut game of a #1 pick. Blake Griffin was the reason for the broadcast. Of course they're going to root for him.

Ya, we did. I meant in the 4th. I was glad to see Nate go with it again. I was hoping for it sooner, but we won. Good move by him to go back to it

Only got to see the 4th quarter.

Batum looked awesome, him and Camby in that Zone was a thing of beauty. After the game I also checked Nic's stat line and it looks like he had a near-perfect game.

He needed more than 7 shots for that to be a perfect game ... not exactly his fault though.

I don't know if it's a trend, but our 4th quarter intensity over the first two games of the season gives me a lot of hope. There is a certain grit and nasty about this team that I've not seen in years.

I honestly think a lot of it is coming from Matthews. I have watched him closely when he is off the ball. I absolutely love it. He is bumping guys, running into them, using his elbows, shouldering them. He gave Nash a few good bumps off the ball the other night. We desperately needed somebody to do that for this team!

I thought that Lamarcus was intimidated by Blake in the first half but settled down later. I think part of that had to do with Camby (who I think should be a team captain), who visibly got more aggressive when Blake started going at the Blazers in a physical fashion. What Camby did is leadership. Taking a fade away jumper isn't leadership. When it gets to the point that Hubie Brown is berating your PF for taking 3 "low percentage fade away jumpers" and Mike Torico mentions several times a game that Lamarcus can't handle double teams, then you know every team in the league knows that too. Late in the game when he got a few buckets to go down, and started to figure Griffin out, he started playing better. But I think the reality is, Lamarcus just slid another rank in the western conference PF rankings.

Roy was Roy. I have no problem with how he played. In the second half the Clipps made a concerted effort to stop him. That helped get a lot of other players open.

Batum was good but I wish he wouldn't pass up so many shots. Sometimes I wonder about the coaching staff and the reigns they put on certain players. They just need to get out of the way and let it happen.

Miller played good once he got a little bit chippy. It took a little of trash talking by Davis though to get him in the mood to play serious.

Mathews had a bad night, but he was served lots of flaming bags.

Rudy was excellent. I was wondering if they are possibly grooming him for starting PG next year? His attitude has turned full corner from last year. I can tell he is playing hard. Last year you could tell he was not playing hard.

Camby- Marcus-Camby! Clap, clap clap clap clap!

Dante-quietly doing a good job.

Oberto - Happy to finally see a guy on the team that isn't afraid to hammer somebody. I have noticed in every game, it isn't seconds after he is in the game that he will lay the wood on somebody. He fouls hard, he doesn't let guys get shots up, he lays hard picks, and he has played physical defense. I hope some of that rubs off. I hope the lack of the rest of his game, doesn't! :ohno:
