it does irrationally worry me that the so called forgone conclusion of a Melo-to-LA deal has not been reported yet.We don't KNOW we've lost any of the players except Zach.
Love what we've done so far, but....To summarize our offseason (SO FAR)
Out:
-Stotts
-Melo
-Kanter
-Giles
-Hollis-Jefferson
-Collins
-Blevins
In:
-Billups
-McLemore
-Zeller
-Brown
oof
I watched Nance play in college (when he would play Nevada in the Mountain West) and followed his career ever since. I see him more as an athletic PF than a 5. He's only 6'7" but plays much bigger and ABOVE the rim! He got alot of his dad's height... but not all of it unfortunately since he was 6'10".If Zeller truly is for the minimum, I imagine it has to come with some guarantee of playing time. And Nance plays mostly center. I don't expect Olshey to then trade for another big when he thinks he already has the position filled.
With that said, I was patient zero on the Nance thing, so I'd be happy with that. I just don't think it's happening.
We know for sure that Blevins is out? That would be a win!
A Jae Crowder type role for Nas would be a great floor for him. His ceiling is still a Gerald Wallace type playerAll right, but he has to LIVE in the fucking weight room then.
I actually see playing smallball 4 as his best route to relevance, because he just doesn't have the skills of a wing.
We started the season with 4 centers. Don’t forget Giles. Is it NO’s fault Stotts didn’t play him.our GM decided to use Enes Kanter as his only big man for more than half the season last year. He doesn't believe in getting tall dudes. Melo played center minutes.
No, it's Giles'.We started the season with 4 centers. Don’t forget Giles. Is it NO’s fault Stotts didn’t play him.
You mean to tell me we don’t have them all yet?you know, a backup PG and PF would be nice. It would be nice if there was a player who could do both of those roles, and was on the trade block.
Oh well, I hear there's some undersized mediocre SGs still available.
I'm still unsigned. You mean to tell me we don’t have them all yet?
Too bad - look what we get to look forward to next year! Yikesat least olshey didnt bring carmelo & kanter back
You mean to tell me we don’t have them all yet?
It seems like most everyone sees Zeller as an upgrade over Kanter. I'm not convinced. It appears to me that folks are so focused on his poor play-off performance they are missing the big contribution he made in the regular season. I can't see Zeller making a significant contribution in either the regular season or the play-offs.
Given that Nurk is not the most durable guy in the league, having no one but Zeller behind him is a head shaker.
Kanter is great at what he does, and shitty at what he doesn’t doI agree. Kanter is being underrated because of the Denver series and Zeller is being overrated because we haven't seen all his warts yet. Grass is greener
great at what he does, and shitty at what he doesn’t do
You shouldn’t. You don’t do anything greatI feel personally attacked....
Kanter is great at what he does, and shitty at what he doesn’t do
Kanter is great at what he does, and shitty at what he doesn’t do
You said it much betterShitty at things he doesn't do is fine, shitty at things has has to do is bad...
Here's the Blazers' numbers per Spotac:
Lillard $39,344,900
McCollum $30,864,198
Powell $15,517,241
Covington $12,975,471
Nurkic $12,000,000
Jones Jr $9,731,707
Simons $3,938,818
Little $2,316,240
Zeller $1,669,178
Snell $1,669,178
McLemore $1,669,178
Elleby $1,517,981
Brown III $898,313 (assume he will sign for rookie minimum)
TOTAL: $136,956,830
Apron: $143,000,000
The Blazers are $6,043,170 under the apron.
The tax-MLE is $5,890,000
Any trade the Blazers do must not add salary, or that will eat into what the Blazers can offer towards the tax-MLE.
Not true. We can go over the apron as long as we don't dip into the full-MLE, ie. use more than 5.89M of our MLE.
