The allstar game is the NBA's version of the grammy awards. Players slapping each other on the back and a whole lotta photo ops. I loved the Sheed never wanted to participate in it. Sheed would say it cuts too deep into needed rest mid-season and he was probably right. So many great players have not been voted in, it's not a slight any more than it's a gauge of marketing power. Jeremy Lin is not the wests starting pt guard and although he's a good player, he's not a superstar by any stretch. Kevin Garnett is not an allstar this season nor is Ray Allen. IMO fans should be eliminated from the voting altogether and only coaches, refs and hall of fame members should vote.
