Jason Quick ‏@jwquick KEX (1190-AM) will be the new home of the Trail Blazers, The Oregonian has learned. Station plans to simulcast games on FM 102.3 as well

Now Canzano is going to go into full Blazer hate mode.

woot! This is great news. I cant stand the lineup on 750. The only guy that talks sports is Strong, and he is all about the Timbers, and I am not. Combine that with the funky ass weak sause AM fade in and out , dead zone shit sound..bleh.

I attempted to listen on my way to work this AM, and CIP spent about ten mins providing info, then the rest of the half hour recaping himself, even had Lou P on, and rehashed himself to Lou..wowzers, what a fool.

The best Clownzanos show has been is now, when he is gone and others guest host.

Wheels at work was a bomb show. I liked hearing about Wheels dating adventures.

it was the best show they have had, I made it a must tune in thing, ahhh , but Brian Jennings thought he had the golden ticket from a wonka bar and pimped the AM idea, I still dont fuckin know how he has a job

He doesn't. Retired about 6mos ago.

Cool for him then, could be the best outcome. I have not spoken to him for about seven months or so. At that time he was trying to tell me the CIP was 'killin it", I told him that he would..

Good, because I could never fucking remember the other station they moved to. 1190 KEX Home of your Trailblazers has been burned into my brain.

I bet 750 goes under now, unless Duck football can hold the station afloat? They started out strong and then killed off everything they had. Never even tried to appease the Beaver fan base. Cancelled their best show, wheels at work, then cut Rome, and have since brought him back as what they put in to fill his slot was utter garbage. I dont mind Canzano at all, but the station is just on repeat all day. No host is bringing anything new to the table for each broadcast.

Good news. At times I can pick up 1190 or 1120 all the way out here in Oakland. I could not pick up 750 at all.

This is fantastic news. "The Game" has been a total clusterfuck since the move back to AM. Having the games back on FM is a godsend.

I thought the point of having Canzano on the air was to appease Beaver fans.

So will 1190 just be broadcasting Blazer games or are they going to turn into a sports radio station?

I kind of like having just one station when it comes to the Blazers. Is it now Blazer talk on 750 and 1080 and Blazer games on 1190?

KEX isn't giving up Rush Limbaugh so it will be Blazer talk on 1080 and Blazer bitching and moaning on 750.

I'm assuming Courtside will follow and go to 1190 as well.

How would that be so? I dont see why so many fans get down on him for being critical. Its so funny that the second he says something bad about the Blazers or Ducks people jump on him. He has gone off numerous times on the Beavers, but nobody cares. He calls it as he sees it, which is what I like. Also why I like Rome.

Rome knows his shit. Sure he said things in his early days strictly for ratings. But overall when you listen to him you always respected his take. You can tell he knows sports.

Canzano on the other hand, although an intelligent guy, and an excellent writer, says things strictly for ratings and has very limited knowledge on sports. I do not believe he says things as he sees it. I believe he says things strickly to get the fan base fired up. Like I said he is intelligent, just not about sports.

But maybe he has changed. I literally can not stand the sound of his voice and have not listened to him in over a year.

I've never been listening to sports radio and thought it was good, so I've never wanted to listen to sports radio. I don't see the point

In the early 90's I could not get enough of it. Those days are long gone. My days are much more relaxing now. I cut out all cable news shows as well. Every talk show host who has an agenda has been eliminated from my day.

TRAIL BLAZERS PARTNER WITH CLEAR CHANNEL TO BROADCAST GAMES IN 2012-13
Games will be simulcast on NewsRadio 1190 and 102.3 KEX

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Trail Blazers and Clear Channel have entered into an agreement to air all preseason and regular season games beginning next season, it was announced today by the team.

Games will simulcast on both AM and FM frequencies on NewsRadio 1190 and 102.3 KEX, the team’s new flagships stations. Coverage will begin with the Trail Blazers preseason opener in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Oct. 10. The team tips off the 2012-13 regular season by hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 31. The move will return coverage to the stations that aired Trail Blazers games from 1979-85 and again from 1989-2001.

“The Trail Blazers’ partnership with KEX and Clear Channel Media & Entertainment goes beyond the ability to provide our fans with a simulcast of our broadcasts,” said Trail Blazers Senior Vice President of Digital Entertainment Dick Vardanega. “This partnership will also provide a number of new and innovative opportunities for our fans to engage in all things Trail Blazers. We are very excited about the possibilities and can’t wait to get things started.”

NewsRadio 1190 and 102.3 KEX will also air Trail Blazers Courtside, the team’s weekly talk show with broadcasters Mike Barrett, Mike Rice, Brian Wheeler and Antonio Harvey beginning Sept. 10. The show will simulcast on Comcast SportsNet and trailblazers.com. In addition, the team’s new flagship stations will carry The Fifth Quarter, a one-hour show following each postgame show, which will be dedicated solely to the fans.

“We are thrilled that the Portland Trail Blazers have decided to renew their partnership with Clear Channel Media & Entertainment and return to their longtime home, 1190 KEX and 102.3 FM,” said Robert Dove, Vice President and Market Manager, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Portland.

Radio affiliates outside of the Portland area will not be affected.

Great, now once they free themselves from Comcast SportsNet, things will be back to normal.

Canzono saying games will be carried in Seattle trying to stir up trouble with blazer fans!
